Frustrating app

Subscribed to the magazine. Downloaded the app. Tried logging in and kept being directed to a Great Magazines website to log in, then kept going round in circles and being asked to log in!

Spoiled by annoying app performance

now, when you leave the app and go back to it, it jumps a random amount of pages forward…very annoying too…and now, some pages just won’t load and you have to exit the app and reopen it…come on, it’s 2024 & the performance of the app is getting worse

Really bad

It never downloads the issues, or at least never complete, so you hardly can use it offline. It makes you loose the supposed archive if you decide to unsubscribe.

Difficult

Difficult to buy, difficult to read.

Classic car magazine

Best magazine bar none for classic cars , not full of adverts , actual good articles about real cars and people

Response from developer

Hi Big bad hector, thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We're very pleased to hear that you like Classic Cars magazine. Kind regards

Subscription

Scummy subscription system when you sign up to buy individual magazines and then find out you’ve actually subscribed to an expensive 12 month subscription. Read the small print. Bunch of arseholes, they also sell a much cheaper 12 month subscription. You have been warned! Print off and have a lawyer read through the contract first.

Hi Crispin353, thank you for leaving your feedback. We apologise for the inconvenience. Usually you have the possibility to buy single issues, even without registration. If this does not work, please contact appsupport_uk@bauermedia.com. Kind regards

NO DESCARGA

NUNCA DESCARGA

Online version of classic cars

It’s just a scan of the printed version. Not interactive at all. You can zoom and pan but you need to do that cos the print is too small.

Response from developer

Hi Axaxaxabvcgftrde, we are very sorry, that you're having troubles reading our ePaper. The print should be easy to read since we implemented the reader optimisation "read mode". If something should not work with the read mode, please contact appsupport_uk@bauermedia.com. Kind regards

Annoying app

Very hard to find where you were, won’t download in background. App has got worse over the years.

IPad2

The latest app update now makes it impossible to download Bauer Media titles on iPad2 devices but, despite my requests, the company has not placed a warning on the app to this effect. Not good enough.

Be careful if you are an iTunes customer

You will have to download all your purchased magazines again. Not very nice if you happen to be on holidays, because you will be forced to use unsafe wifi connections. My advice: wait until you are back home and then decide if you wish to upgrade... Computer/iPad. The new interface is much, much slower than the old one in my previous generation iPad. And full of glitches.

Shocking app - very buggy

Needs to be fixed or I'm cancelling my subscription-'awful performance and constant crashing

Great idea poor implementation

I greatly enjoy this magazine and leapt at the opportunity to carry multiple issues on my iPad when I travel. Alas, one of the great unsung humorists of our time wrote the app. In early versions, though it claimed otherwise, you could only read your issues if you were connected to the internet! Downloading made things faster but it still wouldn't let you read off-line.

Finally a new version was announced that was said to fix this problem. It may have. I don't know. In addition to the new interface, it wiped all my previous purchases and account info and refuses to let me view ANY issues let alone one's I uselessly spend a significant amount of money purchasing in the past.

For those of you who have gotten this far and aren't quite sure yet, this a negative review!

Poor interface update!

Great mag, incredibly stupid update that prevents you hiding the top and bottom menu. Totally ruins the reading experience, I do not want to know the time or how many bars I have when reading. Sadly all newsstand apps are going this way.

But wait, there's more.

Latest update has deleted every downloaded edition. when asked, publisher reposted it was in my long term interest. errr? seriously? 3.6 Gb of download (again) is in my interest?

Great digital option

Having bought print editions of Classic Cars magazine for many years I tried out the digital version soon after the option became available.

Due to the great value and ready portability- I take my iPad when I'm travelling and even enjoy reading the mag in spare moments on my iPhone when in transit - the mobile-device version is a winner in my view. It's also easier to flick to back editions than it is to sort through my pile of earlier print magazines.

Well done Bauer.
