JK owner

So I recently upgraded my tires to 35’s, I noticed my speedometer was off by 11 mph. Big difference when comes to a speeding ticket, lol. A friend referred me to this superchip, which I bought through ExtremeTerrain.com. I plugged the superchip into my Jeep. Scanned the QCR code on the box the chip it came in and it had me download app different app, but same company called FlashCal+. Problem according that app the chip and my Bluetooth couldn’t find a link. So deleted FlashCal+ and physical searched in my App Store on my phone and found this app. As soon as I plugged the chip in and turned the ignition on, it linked up right away. It’s worked perfectly, I only needed it to recalibrate my speedometer to my tire size. Even this app says it works with JL and JT only, but worked with my JK just find.

Does as advertised

Didn’t need a fancy programmer, just wanted to turn off my TPMS and calibrate my speedo after a tire and gear change and it did just that on my 2014 Rubicon, and way cheaper than the alternatives. Super easy and intuitive to use.
Bonus, I didn’t know it could adjust my engine idle, which will come in handy off raiding with a manual

It’s ok, but not great

The app works, but has far fewer options than competing products. It is not updated often and the in app guidance is near nonexistent. I wouldn’t buy the Flashcal+ again.

Needs work....A LOT!

If I had to pick a word to describe this right now, that word would be 'clunky' (Im upgrading this word to 'disaster'....or better yet, 'nightmare'). Feels more like a beta (alpha) release...And I'll tell you why.

In general:

Some features have to be done with the engine running, some without.
Some features that have to be changed with the engine running require you to restart the engine for them to take effect.
You have no idea what the requirements are till you try and save them.
Can't clear DTCs with the engine running. You can pull them with the engine running, but not clear them. Maybe that's normal for jeep?
After the first couple changes I made, the dash seemed to shut down normally after exiting the vehicle. After making a few more, it became rather delayed. I gave up after waiting 5 min and just removed the module. Haven't checked the shutdown time yet but will shortly. If it changes with it removed, Ill update this post.

Gauges:

Clunky. If you're using the analog gauges, you should be able to view 2 at a time without scrolling. Gauges need to be closer together.
If using digital gauges, you should be able to see 3 items. This is easily doing as this is just a spacing issue.
Not enough supported PIDs! There shouldn't be an issue supporting the basics, like oil temp, trans temp or engine timing. These need to be supported!

Crawl:

Super clunky! You shouldn't have to hit 'ok' 4 times to lock an axle!
If you want to lock the front axle (after the rear is already locked) you have to unlock the rear, then lock them both toghether....again with clicking 'ok' 4 times (5, technically). This HAS to change.
Same goes for the sway bar...Having to click 'ok' 4 time is too much.
You're already providing visual updates when changing things, no need to acknowledge everything.....multiple times.

Needs (I'd say immediate...):

Need to add the ability to disable traction control, preferably from the crawl screen.
Need the ability to activate the rear camera at any time or any speed while in drive.
Add the ability to enable the proximity sensor module. That's a popular add on that steers a lot of people to the Tazer.
Need a 'reset all' feature. So far, I have to reset every option manually to go back to stock.
You have to get rid of having to send this in to unmarry from a vehicle. This is so 20 years ago...lol.

While I love the direction you're going with the Flashcal+, it still needs work! I'll probably end up going back to my Tazer till this is a little more mature.
