March 2026 update
Sent an email a few weeks ago to see if the developer could do an update so I could purchase the extras, especially the green text to bring back some fond childhood memories of playing trek on my dad’s TRS-80. Never expected a reply, but got not only a nice email about this passion project, but a few days later … an update to the game. Made my weekend. 👍

Amazing app!
Wow! This is just like I remember in computer class in the late 70/ early 80s. This is the best app on the web! Thank you! So good!

Superb ultimate retro game!
The ultimate retro game! I fondly remember watching my uncle’s play this on the TRS-80!
I was a few years too young to play it myself and there was only 1 computer and too many cousins & uncles around. Didn’t matter, we all watched it in awe. My uncles would take turns each game. It’s great to revisit this (and win!) TY for this nostalgic space voyage!

AMAZING!!!!!
I love it Perfect nostalgia
Trek 80 (aka. Star war)
I love this game! It’s one of my all time favorites! It somehow makes me feel like I’m traversing the galaxy on a seek and destroy mission. Despite its low end “graphics” I find it to be very fun and engaging. A must play for any retro game lover!
Retro fun!!
One of the best games ever. Yes it’s basic, the graphics are simple + and you will feel like you back on your TRS80. I bought the full version just to say thanks to the developer. Hours of simple fun
A great trip back!
This game was the magnum opus back in the day.
Fond memories
I grew up on the Texas gulf coast in the mid 1970’s, a son of a NASA contractor. I remember playing a similar game on my dad’s computer prior to the Tandy game system, and the version you have masterfully recreated. I recall some differences in movement commands, but the same basic game. I also remember spending hours as a child, and the excitement when I finally beat the game the first time. Thank you for bringing back a wonderful memory. I look forward to spending time again (much older kid now) solving the puzzles this game provides.

Great recreation of a TRS-80 port.
Pretty good recreation. What would be nice to see would a additional ability to recreate other versions of the game (like the original 1971 edition, it’s original HP BASIC source code is readily available, Super Star Trek or BSD Trek, a C version which is still available in the Debian repos and was converted to macOS) with the same TRS aesthetic.

Back to the future

Flashback or Puzzler it’s All Fun
I took the developer’s suggestion to treat it as a puzzle, having not played the original. It’s been fun puzzling through the operations. That said, I’ve played games of its type in the past and can see an authentic experience for those wishing to revisit the original. Have fun!
Merci !

A great game!
Totally awesome
Perfect job recreating the TRS-80 game experience!
Awesome game. I fully agree that you should try to figure out how the game moves work without reading the advanced instructions. Made it so much more enjoyable. Thanks for putting in the time to develop!
Nice job on this retro game!
I originally played a version using a Decwriter, connected to a mainframe with a 300 baud acoustic modem! My only improvement idea for this version is to make the keypad area larger. My fat fingers on the small phone screen can tap the wrong number easily.
:D

Great port
Although after playing a bit, I don't think this is my type of game, but I still find it impressive how much work has gone into porting and recreating this game, and I think it deserves more recognition. (Not being a greedy cash-grab that tries to force you to watch ads is also a refreshing change of pace from most apps)

Retro perfection
I can’t believe how long I’ve played this, both as a child and an adult. By modern gameplay very basic, but so rewarding when you win.
Nicely done
I originally played it on a Burroughs mainframe in the early 70’s. History is worth preserving.
