What's New in ClassicalU Mobile

1.1.6

August 9, 2026

This release comes almost entirely from App Store reviews. Thank you to our users. • Rewatch freely. On a lesson you've already completed, you can now skip ahead and scrub anywhere. No more snapping back to the start. • Next completes the segment. Where a segment is one you're allowed to mark complete yourself, pressing Next now does it for you. Required videos still complete by watching them through. • Audio speed controls. Listen from 0.75x up to 2x. • Report a problem. A new option in your Profile opens a pre-filled report, so we get what we need to help on the first message.

Great start

Happy you’ve gotten started with this. Early versions always have bugs.
The first is that progress resets from time to time, especially when switching from video to audio mode. And whenever I move ahead to where I was, it tells me it won’t count. This is demotivating.
Second, having to press “Mark complete” isn’t intuitive since the “Next” button is active. Pressing “Next” should mark the segment complete.
Third, there are no speed controls for the audio versions.
Finally, there’s no built in issue reporting to provide feedback, and the option to email support only feels like I’ll send feedback into a black hole. If you want the feedback, make that seamless.
Still, I’m glad you’re building this.

Response from developer

Thank you LunaLingua for such a thorough, constructive review. Every one of your four points is now fixed and live. Progress resets and the "won't count" message: you were right, and this was our top playback bug. Positions could be lost switching between video and audio, and the skip detector could misfire after a rewind — blocking you from returning to ground you'd already covered. Both are fixed as of version 1.1.5, and 1.1.6 goes further: rewatching a lesson you've already completed now lets you scrub anywhere you like. Mark complete vs. Next: agreed, and changed. In 1.1.6, pressing Next marks the segment complete wherever self-completion is allowed. Required videos still complete by watching them through. Audio speed controls: added in 1.1.6, from 0.75x up to 2x. Issue reporting: 1.1.6 adds "Report a problem" in the Profile tab, pre-filled with the technical details we'd otherwise have to ask you for. And don't worry, we read support emails too! If you update to 1.1.6 you should find all four addressed. Thanks for giving an early app this much care; reviews like yours genuinely shape what we build next.

Restarts video when phone rings

The “return to progress point” function doesn’t work. When the phone rings it pauses and restarts the video. Even when I push the return to progress point video it restarts. As much as I like listening to Christopher Perrin re-listening immediately isn’t something I have time for!

Response from developer

Thank you for the report! You found a real bug, and we're sorry for the lost time. When playback was interrupted (like by a phone call), our "return to progress point" could snap to the beginning of the video instead of your furthest point. We rebuilt that logic in version 1.1.5: return to progress can no longer ever mean "start over," and interrupted playback resumes where it left off. Version 1.1.6 adds a second safety net: on any lesson you've already completed you can now scrub freely, so getting back to your spot never depends on a button at all. If you update to 1.1.6 and still see a restart, please email support@classicalu.com. It reaches the same team that replied to this message.
