not too big of an improvement to regular classkick imo

im a student and i use this app to do classwork and homework. i feel like the only real difference between the two apps is the lasso tool (which i found myself barely using despite how useful it sounds), and the interface. my biggest issue with this app right now is the recording feature. i use the recording feature for my chinese course classwork and homework. the other app's feature was nice and it saved space, and wasn't laggy at all. this new app has captions that are completely unnecessary, laggy, inaccurate (especially because im speaking another language), and clunky. it takes up to multiple minutes to upload a recording thats only 40 seconds long, because its trying to upload captions. also, the interface for recording is sooo big and clunky and unnecessary. you cant even scroll when youre recording so you have to adjust the screen to the perfect size before recording, and if you forgot to do that then youd have to record the whole thing over again aswell as wait for it to upload. sometimes it takes so long to upload that i cant do anything but refresh my app and rerecord. also, the changed picture feature is horrible. the other classkick had regular pictures, and this new one makes my pictures all pixelated and rainbow? its also trying to add captions for it too and turn the words in my picture into text. this also means its soooo laggy for no reason. if you want annotation then add it as a toggleable feature for those who need it, but adding it for everyone or as a default option at all is just so unnecessary and laggy. school ipads are already super slow and periods are short, so this extra loading time can be completely avoided if annotation wasnt added. i appreciate trying to have accomodations for those who need it, but it should be toggleable. it felt like this app was lowkey just pushed out without second thoughts. also, how come you need a whole new app just for small differences? just update the regular one with lasso tool or something. the only really good thing is custom colors and phone accessibility, but those couldve been added to the regular classkick anyway. overall, this whole thing is just so extra for no reason

stylus and erasing issues

i use this app for school, it’s a good app. my only criticisms are that it’s VERY annoying how when i write on my ipad with my stylus, i can’t rest my palm on the screen because it thinks i want to write with my finger so it cuts me off and puts ink in a different place. erasing in this app is also quite difficult. when something is “too small” the erase wont register the ink and it won’t erase. sometimes things don’t even have to be tiny to have issues erasing, it just won’t do it sometimes. :(

Very nice app

This is a nice app to use in school. I use it everyday in Physics to work on assignments. Very easy to do assignments here.

Lasso tool

it would be amazing if we could get the lasso tool on iPadOS not sure if my school hasn’t updated the app or something but the lasso tool is only for iOS devices right?

Response from developer

Hi Phillyscheesesteak! Good news: the Lasso tool works on iPad too. It's now in all three places: this Classkick Student app that you reviewed (white icon), the older Classkick app (green icon), and the web/Chromebook version. If you don't see it yet, make sure you're on the latest version of the app. If your school manages your iPad, ask your teacher to have the school push the update. Once you've tried it, we'd love to know what you think. And if it earns us 4 more stars, we'll take those too ;) Thanks for your feedback, The Classkick Team
