Locked app

I love the classroom timer so I upgraded to pro. Now it’s not working. The App Store says it’s not available. I should have received notification of this but the app won’t even open.

Won’t open

I have tried repeatedly to open this app. Only the picture on the home page opens, and it has no functionality.

Annoying and now useless app

Used to be OK, but recent updates have just made it an annoying and useless app. Steer clear!

Ads make this ineffective for classroom

Ads Pop Up right away. Too annoying to use when they are constantly harping on wasting sacred educational time!!

Response from developer

Hi JhollysFolly, Thanks for bringing this to our attention. This is an oversight on our part. Whilst we do need ads in our free version of the app (that is how we can afford to make it for free) there were far more ads showing than we had realized. We have now adjusted the ad display settings so that: 1) Video ads are not displayed at all 2) We have severely restricted the static image ads, you should not see more than 4 in a day and with at least 30 minutes between them. This should minimize any disruption to your classroom, but if you feel it is not working as I have just described, please feel free to email us at support@academyapps.net and I will be happy investigate further.

New Ads are Extremely Intrusive

This used to be great. Now there are full screen ads (often with video!) that start when you try to start a timer. Imagine, a full class watching the projector screen waiting for a timer, when an ad for a video game pops up. Total nightmare.

I can’t decide if I’m going to pay to upgrade to the “pro” version or just pay to use a different app, as their new ad system was so disruptive and frustrating.

Seriously, if you want to create an ad paywall there are much better ways to do so (provide restricted/limited use, header or bottom ad bars, even less intrusive ads).

Response from developer

Hi Christoble, Apologies for the very delayed reply. We did listen though. Please see the response to "JhollysFolly" review from 3rd Jan 2019. If you find the ads are not working as described in that response, please feel free to contact us directly at support@academyapps.net. Apologies again for the delay in providing feedback.

Doesn't work on my iPhone 6!

The app shuts down on my iPhone 6 as soon as I attempt to set the time! I can use the app on my iPad Air with no issues but I do not bring my iPad to work! I really would like to use the app on my phone!!!

Classroom Timer Light

The app crashes when I attempt to enter a start time. Too bad because the concept of a simple timer to use in a classroom is a good idea. Unfortunately for me, this app is not the one for me.

Excessive pop up ads

Way too many ads. Annoying pop ups on almost every click!

Annoying Ads

The timer works fine and the students like the bomb going off which is why I gave it 2 stars. However, the constant ads popping up while I am using it, is really annoying. Plus, it drains my battery if I use it periodically throughout my day. Definitely could use some improvements on the next update.

Classroom timer

Great app

Can't I give zero stars?

Don't even think about using this app in class. Every single tap tries to sell you something....mainly to do with gambling. Horrid and unethical.

Poor grammar

This is a nice basic timer. When time runs out there is a fun explosion graphic which reads, "Times up." The apostrophe is missing. This makes it unusable in my classroom. I'll wait for the update.

Drains battery

I like this in class. It really keeps us on track however it runs the battery out just I've half way through class. I set it each hour to help us quickly see how much time we have left. That works great then we have no iPad for the rest of the day. I'm not sure why it drains so fast with only this app. Fix the drain and the it will have more stars from my class.

Stay away from that app!

For - every- single - tap- you have an advert to download something. It's the re-invention of annoying pop ups! The app doesn't work as advertised at all. Save your time : stay away from that app!

Could be Better

The alarm, explosion, and well done should be altogether. It's useful.

Good job

I really like the app and use it quite a bit in my classroom. It would be better If the explosion effect after the time is up was an option or just gone altogether.

Horrible

I think it is horrible whenever I press tick it says "please set the time"

Classroom timer

Thanks for creating a handy little app. It is very motivating for students as it is so visual. Would it be possible for you to do an update that fixes the punctuation error please? Rather than Times up! it should say Time's up! (contractions need apostrophes).

Thank you!

Apostrophe, please

Cute app. "Times Up" needs and apostrophe-s (i.e. "Time's Up"). This is an important correction to make if you expect teachers to use this app in their classrooms.
