What's New in CLAUDIO

15.0.2

November 4, 2026

CLAUDIO 15.0 is here, and your ideas are all over this update! Thank you for testing, sharing suggestions and sending detailed bug reports. So much of this release comes straight from your feedback. I'm happy to share it with you! • Set the mood: With CLAUDIO Pro, ten background sounds accompany audiobooks and podcasts: rain, sea, thunderstorm, fireplace, forest, train journey, fan, and white, pink and brown noise. Change sound and volume while listening. They follow pause and sleep timer; EQ and Smart Speed still act on the voice. • A tidier player: The “…” menu has tiles and actions suited to each media type. Choose speed and sleep timer directly; “Sound & Playback” gathers audio options. Bookmarks stay accessible, download actions are clearer and active sound settings stand out. • Your view, close at hand: Visualizers form a card row in Options; only the selected preview animates. Assign the five toolbar slots under Display. Read-along has a small progress ring, times sit closer to the seek bar and podcast chapters have progress in the mini-player. • Speech at different speeds has been retuned to reduce metallic sound. Music, audiobooks and podcasts behave more consistently, including in CarPlay and widgets. • Folders stay folders: Folder view with CLAUDIO Ultra shows nested structures and intermediate folders. Jellyfin, Navidrome, SMB, Audiobookshelf and DLNA have improvements; WebDAV and SFTP received additional checks. Expanding folders preserves your scroll position. • Clearer libraries: Larger folder names, two-line titles, real filenames and fewer icons. Choose filenames, tags or Automatic. Rows show duration, format and track number. Sorting follows the visible title; date and size also apply to subfolders. Unsupported formats are marked and skipped during playback. • Albums belong together: Album artists keep compilations and guest appearances together in music grids and artist groups, search and CarPlay. Different track artists remain visible. Existing favorites and your metadata edits are respected. • Your author order: Sort audiobook authors by first or last name. Your choice is saved and uses available server data. • More room for large collections: Fewer recalculations, prepared search fields, background music and audiobook wall building, and bounded image memory. Server covers load more efficiently and appear more consistently on Home, in the player, on the Lock Screen and in widgets, even after connection changes. • More reliable servers: Progress and status cards show loading activity. Jellyfin resumes interrupted scans, adds missing tracks and uses device identities per installation. iCloud sync waits longer when its quota is exhausted. • Home has larger square covers, less shading, a continuous background and play/pause beside the title. The Mac player gets an orderly grid and side options. • Settings live directly under More, with tiles, consistent icons and improved search. EQ has its own entry with headphone selection and test tone. Duplicate switches are gone; navigation and tile borders are fixed. Haptics are active; Reset App is under System. • Background library refresh is now free for everyone. With the relevant access, read-along and Album Wall/LP Mode need no extra enable switch. • Also: Rate App, new app recommendations, store images and text, better VoiceOver and fixes for metadata, covers and podcast durations. Internal interfaces and tests have been improved too. Thank you for listening, testing and helping shape CLAUDIO. Enjoy version 15.0!

Almost 5 Stars

One of the best apps I’ve used that combines audiobooks, music, and podcasts into one app. The equalizer is a very nice touch and this app may be a replacement for the VOX music app I use. The current app is a SOLID 4 out of 5 stars, but with a few tweaks and fixes, it would be close to perfect.

1. It will occasionally restart the currently playing podcast when you reopen the app.

2. I subscribed to a monthly subscription and wanted to switch to the “one-time purchase” option, but it is no longer available.

3. Audiobooks default to metadata titles instead of filenames. An option to rename books or choose between tags or filenames would be great.

4. Audiobooks sometimes get split up when the metadata has multiple authors listed. Again, being able to edit tags in-app would be very helpful.

5. An added grid view for authors instead of just by individual books would also help with organization.

6. My server’s podcasts all are identified as music, and some are listed as unidentified and show no information at all. A way to correctly label those items would be helpful.

7. When I select “make available offline”, the audiobook will show a download progress bar but will never be marked as downloaded and will not show up under the filter option “show only downloaded”. This might be a dealbreaker if offline listening isn’t functional.

Response from developer

Hey, thank you so much for your feedback and the ideas here! I appreciate that you took the time to write. Feel free to drop me an email at support@nerdwana.net so I can contact you with follow-up questions or join our Discord! This is the downside of having no tracking in the app: I don't see how you use it. And so I rely on your feedback for improvements. The latest update should fix most of your points, I think. The rest will come with Claudio 15.0! New in CLAUDIO 14.6: • Podcasts from your own server: episodes with the genre “Podcast” or in a “Podcasts” folder now appear under Audiobooks, one show as one book, and remember where you left off. Podcast libraries from Audiobookshelf appear the same way, oldest episode first. With CLAUDIO Ultra. • Authors: the Audiobooks section now offers an author view as a grid next to the books. Tapping an author shows all of their books. • Series: books in a series are sorted by their number in lists, under authors and in search, part 2 before part 10. • Audiobook titles: in Settings, choose whether an audiobook shows the title from its tags or from its file name. • Pay once: CLAUDIO Ultra subscribers now find Pro+ as a one-time purchase in Settings. • Available offline: an audiobook from a server keeps downloading after a restart, even if the app interrupted the download when it went to the background, and is marked as downloaded. If a download fails, the app shows a message. With CLAUDIO Ultra. • Multiple authors: an audiobook whose files name several or different authors no longer splits into several books. • No title tag: tracks without a title tag from Navidrome and other Subsonic servers show their file name instead of an ID. With CLAUDIO Ultra. • Podcasts: an episode only counts as played once it has been finished or marked as played. A duration in the feed that is too short is no longer

Für mich die beste Audio-App

Die App hat für mich einfach alles was man als HomeLab-Besitzer braucht. Anbindung an Jellyfin oder direkt an den NAS. Zudem noch kleine quality of life features (sleep timer, knocking function zum weitermachen).
