Works pretty good

It does the job but could use an update. I am unable to do the color matcher twice in a row unless I close out of the app completely and reopen it. It’s very hard for me to read the white text on the magenta, yellow, and white circles during the color matcher; would be better if the text was black instead so that I don’t struggle so much.

My last update was fairly recent. I’d appreciate an email if you are having any issues. Info@claybox.ca

New version is great

The updated version is great. The enhancements make the app more usable.

Clay box

I love the clay box app but it really needs to be updated. There have been new colors and recipes released but they have not been added to clay box.
Suggestion: it would be super nice if there were already designed color palettes on this site, now that would be amazing and very helpful.

Response from developer

Thank you for the feedback. I’m assuming you mean new Premo colors. I’m never quite sure if limited edition colors should be added since they may be hard to find. I just added an update (version 5.3) with a few new colors. Thank you for the suggestion. I’ll work on adding some pre-made palettes to the app also. Hopefully I can release it in the next couple of weeks

Lacking functionality/features

It was only $5 so I said what the heck, unfortunately it lacks a lot, not very user friendly
I’d like to be able to make alcohol ink recipes with my clay but I can only blend clay colors (you must select 2) and Cernit translucent isn’t even an option. I also don’t understand the premade recipes, are they all equal parts? When you have 1/7 white, what does that mean??

So helpful!

Great app for mixing colors. Would love to see Hobby Lobby’s Advanced line added to the palettes.

More Cernit color lines, please

This is good app to play with polymer clay colors, but as a Cernit aficionado, I would like to see more than just the Number 1 line included. Many of my color recipes use the new Cernit metallics and it would be nice to include them.

I also didn’t find the interface to be intuitive.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback. I have added the Cernit metallics to the database and the new version should be in the App Store in the next few days

Super great app

Learn about colors and patterns and make my life more simple and easy at the moment of create!! Thanks!!

Clay box

This is a great help in choosing color variegations to work with in polymer clay. Thank you for your help in this development.

Impressive and exactly what I needed

This needs more exposure. Truly the best app for anyone making polymer clay jewelry and canes. Sculpey or Fimo should buy this app, upgrade the graphics, and market the heck out of it.

Love it!

Can’t thank you enough for creating this app! I’m learning so much from the ‘cane design’ feature which allows me to scratch the basic geometry of my cane to get an idea of what it will look like. I also love the ability to create recipe mixes before I actually mix clay to get an idea of what it will look like. It also helps me develop an intuition about color mixing because I can try adding different colors to see how they change a color mix I want to fine tune.
I do have one suggestion for the developer. Now that there are so many color recipes added by the community, it would be very helpful to first select a color group before looking for the various colors within that group. Scrolling through the 500 recipes is tedious enough, but the number is just going to keep growing.

Thank you so much for the detailed review. So glad to hear the cane designer is useful. I agree the recipes are hard to scroll through and that’s a great idea. I’ll work on a different design over the next couple of weeks.

Great product.

I’ve only had a small chance to work with it but I’m already loving it. Want to know what your skinner blend will look like before you make it. This app does that. There is a large database of color recipes and so much more. It was the happiest I’ve been over $5 spent.

The best $5 you’ll spend on a clay tool this year

For the cost of about two blocks of clay, you can buy this sweet little app that will enable you to create an endless variety of palettes and provides recipes for the colors you choose.
Upload a picture, then choose as many colors as you want from it to create your custom palette. You choose which color recipe most closely matches your color by looking at a list of swatches. It also suggests colors and color schemes to go with colors you select.

I know I’m going to be enjoying a bigger variety of color schemes from now on.

DOESN’T WORK!!!

DO. OT DOWNLOAD THIS APP! THERE ARE NO RECIPES. NOTHING IS FUNCTIONING

Response from developer

So sorry to hear you are having trouble. Please email me info@horsebytes.ca in order to diagnose the issue Edited to add: Sorry I didn’t hear from you. I have been in touch with a brand new user it and seems that everything is working as expected, currently over 500 recipes in the app.

Super useful app

Downloaded app earlier this week and found it super easy to use. There are some great time saving features. No more mud coloured clay for me as it takes the guess work out of mixing colours.

Awesome app

Can you please add sculpey III to the list as well 💕 much obliged

Response from developer

Thank you. For sure, I will add Sculpey III next

Every clay artist needs this app

Full-featured, well-written, and ten times better than my previous manual solutions.
