Almost perfect with one existential flaw.

There is a setting to remove EM dashes, but no ability to replace them with anything. That’s just crazy.

Response from developer

Hey, great point! In version 1.4, you are now able to enter what the em-dashes get replaced with. Thanks, -AH APPS

Love it

The app cleans up all the weird formatting and extra stuff from text, so whatever I paste into my notes looks normal.

The screenshots on the App Store do not accurately reflect the app.

The screenshots shown on the App Store do not accurately reflect the current version of the app, at least not as used on Sequoia. The “auto-clean” button does not have a selector, so it’s not possible to know whether the option is enabled or not. In the app’s screenshots, there is a report showing what was cleaned from each text. In the actual app, there are only two fields—input and output—which does not match what’s shown! I would like to see a report of what was removed from the text, but I couldn’t find this option.

Edit: App is not working!! Eg: The emojis are not been cleaned…

Doesn’t work

I had a chonk of text that had Unicode spaces in it, which when pasted, ended up looking like wide spaces between words. So I thought clean paste would help me get rid of the code spaces. They promised they would. I followed their instructions perfectly and tried again and again and it never took out the Unicode spaces and replaced them with simple ASCII character spaces. I paid three dollars for an app that doesn’t do what they promised to do. It was a waste of my money, so learn from me and don’t waste your money.

Thanks for using Clean Paste. I just submitted version 1.2 which includes the ability to normalize Unicode spaces. Hopefully it will be approved and available for update soon.
