No good for the free version of Clear Books
It would be an excellent app if it worked with the free version of Clear Books. All I want to do is to record my income and expenses, with a view to being ready when new MTD regulations will require me to submit quarterly returns. The desktop version is fine for these basic needs, and my accountant does the rest. But this app does not have an option to enter expenses. I can create a Bill (which does get included in my expense list), but it shows up as “unpaid” with no easy one-click way of marking it as paid. What a shame, as it would be so much more practical to quickly enter my expenses on an app instead of having to go through the convoluted process of logging in to the desktop version each time.

App no longer works
Didn’t use it for a couple months so account was closed. Now won’t allow me to even log out and log into to a new account, just met with a continuous error page telling me to contact support team. Deleted the app, reinstalled, turned off device etc etc… still won’t work.

Almost a good app
The ability to add bills and purchases and upload receipts while on the go is very useful. Unfortunately it’s let down by some frustrating issues: 1. No pinch to zoom on the attachment images. This wouldn’t be a problem if the OCR worked but unfortunately… 2. OCR doesn’t work for me at all. It has never recognised any useful information from an uploaded receipt. 3. No way of easily filtering the currency list. Maybe have a settings screen so I can decide what currencies to show on that list so I don’t have to scroll through all of them every time? 4. Pasting on the Summary text field when adding a line item doesn’t work. Just make copy and paste work on all the text fields please! What the app is designed to do is probably about right for a mobile version. It just needs some polishing in order to do it better.

It’s good now!
I think the previous negative reviews are old and Clearbooks must have made significant improvements because I think the App is really good. In particular the ability to take photos of receipts and store them in the cloud as attachments to invoices has really speeded things up for me.
Can’t use share menu
Falls at the first hurdle. I can’t use the share menu to upload bills received by email to Clearbooks.

The one thing which would make this app any good is the ability to add a customer which you can’t - that’s the point if you cannot add a customer - super rubbish, try again Clearbooks
Poor quality and clunky app
Not very intuitive and far behind others that are out there.
Main issue is I can’t access or view images of bills I’ve stored in the app with the app telling me the attachment no longer exists. Or that there is no image when I know there was one! Not reassuring. Not a quality app and makes accounting an absolute nightmare. Avoid it.

Terrible app. It’s just the surface level stuff. I think it’s been released in the development stages and probably released prematurely.
You go into an existing invoice. When you select options it just expands the information on the invoice. It dries the give you any actual options eg. payment.

Pointless
After lagging behind for so long without a mobile app, along comes this! Better late than never I thought. However, what is the point? You cannot view sales transactions, create or send invoices, or record payments, which I thought would just be the basics.
Very poor!
I would have expected the ability to create and send Invoices which is the main reason I use ClearBooks however this just seems to be an expense and bill storage
If you are going to produce a proper mobile app the. It needs to reflect the web version (which by the way doesn't work too well on a mobile either)
