There’s no way to turn the timer off. It keeps on running in the background forever and ever night Day in and night out.

Sorry for the long wait — and thank you for the report. In v1.6.x we rebuilt notifications from the ground up: alerts now use weekday-based scheduling, you can pick any days of the week as days off, and the timer no longer keeps running silently in the background. Removing notifications is also straightforward in the latest build. We'd love for you to give it another try.
