About

Nobody travels alone. Close Circle tells the people who care about you that you got there. Not where you've been all day — just that you're alright. Add a few people you trust. Start a trip when you set off. They see you go, and they see you arrive. In between, your day is nobody else's business. START A TRIP Pick where you're going and who's watching. Your chaperones follow your route live, see when you're expected, and are told the moment you arrive. Walking, driving, cycling or transit — the arrival time adjusts to how you're travelling. You can also set off with nobody watching yet. Someone who needs to leave right now should never be held up by an empty circle, so a chaperone can join after they've been alerted. CHECK-INS Set a reminder and the app asks whether you're alright. Miss it and your circle is told you've gone quiet. Saying nothing is exactly when someone should hear from us. SOS Hold the button. A countdown runs, your circle is alerted, and your emergency contacts are sent a message with your location — they don't need the app for that to reach them. Then Close Circle puts the emergency number for wherever you are on screen, one tap away. iOS never places a call on your behalf and we don't pretend otherwise. You can cancel at any point. Cancelling stops the call, and your circle stays notified — a false alarm they never hear about is worse than one they do. PLACES Name the places that matter: home, work, a friend's. Your circle is told when you get there and when you leave, without anyone having to watch a map all day. STAY IN TOUCH Message your circle, or hold to send a voice note. Send a ping when you just want to know somebody's alright, and they can answer with one tap. RECORD A TRIP, IF YOU WANT TO Trip audio is off until you switch it on. It asks first, plays an audible tone so people nearby know, shows an indicator the whole time it runs, and is encrypted on your phone before it goes anywhere. It's free on every account. WHAT YOU SHARE, AND WHEN Two choices, and you can change your mind any time in Settings: • Only during trips — your chaperones see you from the moment you set off until you arrive. The rest of the day is yours. • Safe Presence — your circle can see you any time, and Places alerts work all day. Best for households sharing both ways. Nothing happens until someone is on the other end. Chaperones have to accept, and either of you can end it. FREE • 3 people in your circle • 3 saved Places • Unlimited trips, live routes, check-ins and SOS • Trip audio recording, kept 14 days • 7 days of trip history • Driver safety score and the home screen widget CLOSE CIRCLE PREMIUM • Up to 10 people in your circle • 10 saved Places • Safe Presence — always-on sharing • Trip audio kept 90 days instead of 14 • 90 days of trip history, with route playback Premium is a subscription, monthly or yearly. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. It renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period, and you can manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings at any time. What's New in Close Circle

2.0.1

September 26, 2026

FIXED Voice notes send. That is the whole point of this release, and it was our failure rather than a bug you were unlucky enough to find. Notes you have listened to stay marked as played. The unread dot used to come back every time you reopened the app, because the app was never able to record that you had heard it. Voice notes are cleared closer to the day they promise, and one that is past its time no longer sits in your chat list waiting to be played. Holding the button tells you it heard you. The microphone takes a moment to wake up, and the button used to sit perfectly still while it did, which made it look broken. A recording that reaches the two-minute limit is discarded instead of sent, so nothing reaches your circle that you did not release the button on. ALSO IN THIS VERSION Voice notes on a map. Each note stays pinned to the spot it was said, for as long as it lives. Open it from the map button in Chats. Today, told back. An evening summary of where your circle went and when, in plain sentences, built from the arrivals you were already being told about. Nothing new is watched — it is the same day, written down. Who sees you. One screen that answers "who can see where I am, right now", with everything you are sharing in one place and a way to stop sharing any of it.
