Great app!
Helps me personally stay consistent in at least setting aside a few minutes each day of focused prayer that I’m not multitasking.
I LOVE this app!
I started using this app when it first came out, and I must admit that having it remind me to pray, and then also using the phone locking features, alongside the prayer streaks features, has significantly increased the time I spend in prayer each day.
Some people might say, “I don’t need an app to pray”, and they would be correct about that. But I don’t need bottled water to drink water throughout the day. I could carry a bucket with me like in the olden days… but I won’t. Let’s just be honest and humble enough to admit that there are things that can help encourage us to pray more in modern times and not allow our phones to be as never ending distractions in our lives… Distractions that even keep us to preoccupied to bother speaking to our Maker and giving space in our minds & hearts such that we’d ever hear Him without His needing to yell.
C.S. Lewis once wrote, “God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.”
I, for one, have had enough of pain, and do not desire to tempt God to, out of His genuine great love, allow pain into my life just so I will finally hear Him. Instead, I make time to pray each day.
Lastly, I am encouraged to see that others who I am friends with who use this app are praying too! When I see that so-on-so spent 3 hours in prayer this week, I am encouraged that other Believers are also prioritizing God in their lives as well.
So, in closing, get this app, and use it! Don’t tempt God to allow a tornado to rip your phone right out your hand because you won’t listen to him any other way. This app is a great design because it combines locking your screen during your sessions where you can only see the timer the day’s Bible passage, alongside the ability to connect with friends for prayer accountability, and reminders, and to send each other requests for prayer, etc.
