This is the best way to find low cost stays around Australia if you are a CMCA member.
Very useful
There is useful info for gas refills, dump points, parking close to CBD, and free camp sites with photos
CMCA GeoWikiX Review
After I realised an app was required to use on my iPad I quickly learnt to use same. After reading the articles in the Wanderer I thought an app only applied to the phone. My limited computer literacy being the issue. Mark Power

Fantastic stay we stayed in the unpowered which is a huge area you can pick you own site.. generators allowed during day, $3 washing machines, nice drinkable bore water filling taps. Powered section is an extra $10 PN unpowered is $10 PP PN or $50 PP for the week.
Lots of residents emus wandering around dogs must be kept on leashes..
We had a beautiful peaceful stay here.. cheapest around lightening ridge to explore just a few kms approximately out of town

Life saving
Great app, so helpful while your on the road. Worth the money if you travelling around AUS
Could be better
GEOWIKI has a strong strength because of it’s integrity.
However - it is nowhere as easy to use as WIKICAMPS.
This is because GEOWIKI ‘hides’ several sites under one button - and is much harder to use.
Hence I use WIKICAMPS much more than GEOWIKI.

Everything is harder
By the time it loads in a critical situation it is way too late. I hate how you have to log in every time and it’s very difficult on a phone... happy to discuss by phone
Opinion and Requests
I love the app and just have a couple of requests. When it has synced or updated I’d like the button to go grey. I’d like the search option on default to town nam rather than place name.
Intermittent use for mapping
Have to keep updating for offline, Prefer ExplorOz for navigation
Travelling Record
This program is at first a little daunting, but perseverance will pay off, it is not complex, you just have to get past the natural fears that seniors have, of pressing the wrong button and it is a pleasure to use and records your information that you require, brilliant

I have been planing a trip and it is so easy to use as long as you know where you are heading. Great detail on sites, thank you CMCA.
Geo wiki X is rubbish
This app has one feature that you really want to use and that's the Geo Wiki X
It's the only map app on my phone that can not ever locate where I am.
Google maps, Apple maps, Waze, wikicamps, Full camping - all of these apps can identify my location accurately... Why can geo wiki x?

Easy to use
I’ve been using the app for years now and it is the only one I use. Took a while to get used to it but now I love it. Use nothing else to plan our trips.
Useless
Offline maps don’t work. Downloaded app, downloaded maps. Guess what? No offline maps and often no POI’s. Tried again by deleting app data, then uninstalling, downloading app and maps again. Had a few goes at getting offline maps to happen but seems offline maps only work when online. Bring back Geowiki!!!

Really enjoying the new GeoWiki X.
Clunky
Sadly, while the idea might be good, the reality is that this is the least user friendly App anywhere.
Apps are meant to be intuitive these days and the fact that there is tuition for users at rallies demonstrates that this is far from friendly.
The developers must be locked in an 80’s time warp.
It is unlikely this App will EVER achieve its desired outcome because the basic foundation is clunky, flawed and old school.

Not compatible with iPad
Is it me or is it the app when trying to use the GeoWiki link drop down boxes are unuseable rendering the app useless

Work in Progress
The app is still being developed at the time of this review. At this stage it works very well and will certainly eclipse Wikicamps once it is finished.
