Poorly written practice items
The sample items should be representative of the exam quality items, or they are not a beneficial tools for gauging performance expectations. I would suggest that the organization that created the items presented by this prep tool seek out better psychometric assistance.
For example in a multiple choice items, unless stated in the stem, ‘choose the best response’ then the keyed response should be the only accurate response, and the distractors should be 100% inaccurate responses.
Distractors should be plausible, but incorrect. Distractors should be representative of the common errors of the typical learner.
Exam items should not be written in a manner that is intended to ‘trick’ the test taker. The idea is that you WANT to test the learner’s knowledge accurately. Trick questions, and throw-away responses do not properly measure the learners actual knowledge.
There is a science to writing good items and sadly, I do not see much of that science present in the sample items provided by this tool. I am sorry I spent the money for the full package.

I PASSED!
I’ve been a meeting professional for 7 years but when I actually applied and had the option to schedule my exam, I knew I didn’t want to wait until May or this year. So I scheduled my test TWO WEEKS OUT. Pocket prep was my regular daily study aid, as well as reading the recommended material, that led to me PASSING THE CMP. MULTIPLE questions from the app were on my exam. Granted, a few were rephrased but still recognizable. Me passing was in large part because of this app., Thank you pocket prep!

Overall Helpful
I used the 250 question ($25) upgrade of this app to study for the CMP. I don’t understand why CMP resources are all so expensive and this was the best deal. Overall I found the app informative and helpful, although it focused on areas (ex - Procurement) that I barely had on my CMP exam and didn’t include things that were on the exam (ex- math equations) Overall, I’d say this app was integral in helping me pass the exam even though different topics were covered, and it was a nice compliment to the Professional Meeting Management textbook I got from the library.

It was good at first
I paid for the app so I could have additional questions and it was great at first but now I keep getting the same questions repeated even though I answered them correctly the first time so I’m a little disappointed.

This app is a great tool in understanding where your weaknesses are. I just passed the exam and was surprised how much content the App covered that was on the test. My advice - use the app daily and use all the features it offers I tested myself over and over on each domain as i finished the corresponding chapter in the CIC book until I exhausted every question and passed each exam with an 85 or better.

Love the app only wish you could highlight a word and see the definition before answering.
Great study app
I passed the CMP exam on the first try. I am sure that I couldn’t have done this without Pocket Prep. It’s helpful because there is an explanation for each question. So instead of memorizing, I was able to understand the concepts. I highly recommend using Pocket Prep!
Great study guide
Loved this app and really believe it helped me pass the exam! The questions were a great way to prep! Plus, the detailed explanations and grading by domain gave good direction to me on areas of focus for my studies. I’d recommend this to anyone working on their CMP.

The CMP is notoriously hard to study for. I was pretty worried as I didn’t have the time to attend a formal study group. Pocket Prep showed me exactly where my weak areas were and where I needed to study up. I have passed and am recertified!

Amazing app!!
I just passed the CMP exam and this app was so incredibly helpful in preparing me for the test. Loved that there were detailed explanations to questions and references back to the book for further clarification. Also loved the metrics that analyzed which areas you were strong/weak on so you knew what to concentrate on. I got way more out of this than I did from a test prep program from a “preferred” provider. This app is a must for this test, buy the premium version, you’ll be so glad you did. Thank you for making such a great app!!

Issues after update
Since the most recent update I have had issues. My metrics are not loading also issues in general with loading the app.

I passed August 2017
This was the best money spent on this whole studying process. Many questions were different (as expected), but these 600 practice questions teach you how to think. It was amazing how these questions popped into my head as I took the test. I took 20 questions a day for 5 months.

I passed my test thanks to pocket prep. I read handbook 9th edt. and quizzed myself. I used the app for 2 hrs a day/ about 60 questions for 2 weeks. I read all the explanations for the correct answers.
I had at least 10 questions about sustainable events, the roll of the DMC, a lot of questions about accounting types and the amount of space people need in certain room set ups. Will use the app again.

Test questions and brief, detailed explanations
This is my first resource for the cmp test and it's well thought out. You have the option to customize tests based on areas of need ( HR, professionalism, marketing, etc).
I would love to see the app include a section of all the explanations, so it can be reviewed as well. I love the test questions, but sometimes it's nice to read and then take a test.

I passed! Thanks to this app!
I've been studying for over a year with the PCMA tutorials ($300), all the recommended books ($200+), CIC 40 question exams ($40), but it's been this app ($20) that I think was the best value yet! I took mini practice tests any chance I got and they helped me prepare for the same question wording that eventually was on the real CIC exam. I think I passed because of this app! Yah!

Loved this app! Just completed my certification test and am officially a CMP! This app helped me prepare and gave me a better understanding of the sections I had full understanding and the sections I needed more review. I agree with the other reviewer that if this app had a history of each of the 10 sections progress it would have received a 5 star. Recommended this app to all my planner friends getting ready for the test.

Great Way to Test for the CMP!!!
If you need a way to avoid test-anxiety before taking the CMP, this is the app for you. Simple, straightforward and easy to use, CMP TEst Prep is a great tool.
I found the interface very easy to use, and the scoring breakdown at the end gave me an easy insight into which areas I needed to work on first.
The option to either complete the full test or see the scoring of each question really broadens the effectiveness of this app.
They include a great little manual on the best strategies for multiple-choice test taking.
Once you figure out the areas where you are weakest, you can turn off the others and really focus in on the areas where you need work.
