The dice don’t actually roll!

Nice if your into the Aeropress and messing around. It’s a pity that the dice don’t act like real dice and roll! Would be so much better. And I’d be willing to pay for it

Very happy

As you can see from the other reviews the developers are on it with improvements.

App is very impressive too.

Response from developer

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it :) always open to new feature requests too!

Simple, cute, but limited.

Nice direct approximation of the dice. Super cheap so worth it.

Would be really great if you could edit notes on saved recipes. So that you can continue to work on and adjust favourite recipes (ie dial in grind etc).

Response from developer

Thanks for downloading and giving feedback! I’ve updated the app in version 2.0.7 to allow you to edit your notes and the title of a recipe! Have a great holiday season!

Works well

Having missed the actual dice offer I was please to find this. Works well, the timer was a welcome addition. If you have an Aeropress this is a great help on exploring the options.

Great help but

There are still some issues from being developed for bigger screen, unfortunately. Help page straight up erases parts of text behind ellipses making it impossible to read.
Some explanation for stirring icons would also be appreciated

Great start!

I appreciate the basic concept of the app thus far. I don’t usually brew on aeropress but this seems like a fun tool to accompany the brewing process for this specific method. The save component for the dice rolls is a great feature as well as being able to manually change each dice option individually. Looking forward to seeing updates in the future.

Thanks for trying out the app! I appreciate the feedback :)

Not bad

Great app! Could use some polish but overall is a fun way to produce some different results. Next update should add notes. Would love to log different flavor notes with origins to saved.

Response from developer

Version 2.0.4 now has the ability for you to add notes! Thanks for the idea :)

Dice don’t actually roll...

I love James Hoffman and wanted to support his brilliance (so sorry sone lame dude counterfeited his dice!!) The app works by simply showing different combos of all the elements needed to make/use the aeropress for making coffee...tap tap...<yawn> Only rated 4 stars because at the least, for a PAID app that is so so basic, the dice (choices randomized ) should have been animated! Come on developers! Show the shaking action! Let us actually ROLL THESE DICE! As the name suggests...if I’d known it was just a static tap to scroll through the elements I might’ve saved that buck $ Pretty sad. 👎🏽

Hey there! I appreciate the feedback :) I am working on a redesign of the app right now, but getting the dice in 3D is turning out to be quite difficult for me. I would like to inform you that I did not counterfeit his dice, but rather worked in collaboration with Hoffman Industries to make the app! I wish you would have had a better experience, so I apologize, and I’m sure Apple will be happy to give you a refund! I hope you enjoy your next cup of coffee! ☕️

Great Little App

What a great idea to turn James Hoffmanns Aeropress Dice into an App! I know it is against the original purpose, but I would appreciate if the rerolling a single dice option wouldn’t be random, so you could easily adjust a recipe :) I usually start with a random roll of all the dice, but then I adjust it accordingly.

Great idea! In version 1.8 you can now swipe down on a single dice to go through all its faces. Glad you are enjoying the app 😀

Needs a lot more work to be functional

The dice screen comes up as a pop up window. If you should swipe it away, what you’re left with is looking at the default (loading) screen with the logo. There’s no apparent way to get back to the functional part of the app without restarting it. The “Roll” button is also halfway cut off on my iPhone 6s.

Good catch! This should now be fixed in version 1.4.1. Happy New Year!

It’s okay

I’m sure the recipes are good, but I can’t seem to be able to actually use the app. It freezes as soon as I open it :/ it’s a shame. It sensed so good

Great app, impossible to use on my tiny phone

Please update this app so it can fit the screen of my iPhone SE. I love the idea of this app, but it's more or less impossible for me to use it on this phone.

Response from developer

This is fixed now :)

Good but needs a bit more functionality.

Bought this because it’s a cool idea and I wanted to support the creator. It works well and is a fun way to explore the capabilities of the aeropress. I wish it had a bit more functionality though, especially for a paid app. I would love to be able to save specific combinations that I want to reuse in the future. It would also be nice to be able to re-roll a specific dice instead of all of them. Overall it’s fun app though.

You can now re-roll specific dice in version 1.4! And you can now save your recipes in version 1.5!

Kinda bare bones but it works as described

It would be nice if I could exclude "your choice", and I'd like the facility to hold one or more dice and roll again.

Response from developer

You can now re-roll individual dice in version 1.4!

Won’t run on 6th gen iPod Touch

Screen is frozen, not properly centered. Only functionality is opening help screen, also not centered. Too bad! Was hoping to have fun with this app and my Aeropress.

doesn’t support smaller displays

I’ve got iPhone SE and looks like the app is made only for bigger screens like 7-8th gen and X. please fix that. I can’t even see ‘Roll’ button.

Response from developer

It should work now :)

Not suitable for version 5 iPhones

I’m certain that this simple app would be great for me, but the only hinderance is that I have an iPhone 5s. Alas, I am a lowly dinosaur.

The app is made for versions 6 and higher. Perhaps, on that fateful day when I have to upgrade, I can benefit from this tool.

Response from developer

It should work now on smaller screen sizes! :)
