Cognora: Selective & OC Prep

The NSW Selective High School Placement Test has three multiple-choice papers: Reading, Mathematical Reasoning and Thinking Skills. Most practice apps cover Mathematical Reasoning and stop. Cognora covers all three, plus the Opportunity Class test. START WITH A FREE DIAGNOSTIC Fifteen minutes of practice, and you get a breakdown of where your child actually sits — not a score out of ten, but the specific topics costing them marks, named. WHAT'S INSIDE • Questions across all three multiple-choice papers, plus Abstract Reasoning for HAST and scholarship entry • Full-length mock exams, timed like the real paper • Adaptive difficulty that tracks accuracy and speed, so practice stays hard enough to be useful without tipping into frustration • A mistake bank that brings back the exact questions your child got wrong, on a spaced schedule • Worked explanations on every question, not just a tick or a cross • Works offline — useful on the train, in the car, at the kitchen table FOR PARENTS The Parents' Portal sits behind a gate only an adult can pass. It shows the week in plain language: how often your child practised, how long for, their strongest topic and the one that needs work. Turn on the Sunday summary and it arrives each Sunday evening, so you know how the week went without opening the app. FREE AND UNLIMITED Free gives you the diagnostic, a curated question library across every section, worked explanations, one taster mock exam a month, and the Parents' Portal. Unlimited adds the full question bank, a new mock paper every Friday, and spaced-repetition drilling on the questions your child keeps missing. A NOTE ON WHAT WE DON'T DO The Selective test also has a Writing paper. Cognora does not mark writing — that needs a human, and we would rather say so than pretend an algorithm substitutes for a teacher. Cognora is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the NSW Department of Education. Practice does not guarantee any exam result. Cognora Unlimited is an auto-renewing subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. It renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and you can manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings at any time.
