Yes , you want me to write a review . I like this coin site cause it does tell me what I am looking at . But sometimes I gotta take maybe 3 or 4 pics to see if it was right . Sometimes it gets it right , but sometimes no it doesn’t. I wish there was an easier way to check the results. Like sometimes I’ll check a coin and the date is about gone and it’ll give me 2 or 3 wrong years . So I have to take a look at it with the glass just to if it’s right or not .

Misreading fake coins

I recently obtained several fake Morgan, Peace and Silver Dollar coins. The app checked them out as original and valuable. I sure why the app. Cannot differentiate. I only knew due to obvious wrong grammar weights. They looked real visually. Fortunately my credit union reimbursed me and turned them over to authorities.

Absolutely Amazing!

CoinSnap did an amazing job of identifying coins, even the most challenging ones. It was so fast and easy to use. I was very impressed with the amount of information presented for each coin. I did have to correct several of the coin grades, but that was a minor issue.

Wasted my time

I really thought this app was working until I put aside a coin that showed it had worth. I re-scanned it to show someone and it went from $322 to 0.28 for a quarter. Re-scanned three more times and each time it was a different value. I wasted all that time!

Selling coins

Who would want to buy some of my coins

Good start

I find that my CoinSnap app is a great tool to catalog all of my coins. It’s simple to use and I love the fact that I could have multiple collections. However, I do not like that It does not total the value that I put in and only totals what the app says it is worth which unfortunately is incorrect 30 to 40% of the time because it does not account for errors, and variety’s that effect price like first strike, Dcam…ect. Also many times far over estimating the value. I would it to show me both totals. It would also be helpful if it reminded me of known errors to look for with a graphic of what and where I am looking for it. Good app…could be great.

Coins

It lets me know what to look for also if its MS or AU also keeping records on all coins so if you have a problem with coins they have all the records on it

Great tool

Really good app that lets you have insight into the history of so many varying types of currency. Without this app I would struggle to
Identify most of my collection.

VAM

I would really love to have my 1888-0 VAM 1B in my collection here.

The apps

The app was designed beautifully and logically allowing it to learn and identify the coins and provide reference value. It can identify almost every coins existed amazingly. Keep improving and if you can include info like where you obtained it’s values info or where we can sell or exchange them would be great. Thanks, Andrew

Solid numismatic tool

A wealth of detail on circulation, composition and errors. My only complaint is that the imaging process is slow and one-at-a-time, which is perfect for the hobbyist, less so for a dealer or bulk buyer/ metal hunter. I'd love a field sort option, but it's easy to use and fun as it gamifies your collection. I found a few of gems I had overlooked in my catalog so it's paid for itself by a mile. Its database gets a bit shaky once you go earlier than the mid 18th century and it's hopeless for ancient coinage, although it has accurately identified a few late medieval English Silver pieces I found, so go figure. all around I'm happy even if it doesn't satisfy my professional needs, i.e. quantity at speed. You couldn't ask for a better beginner tool.

Okay for most Identification but not valuation.

Often misidentifies several years or mint marks for a variety of coins. There may be 90% accuracy when it comes to identification of coins and rounds. The app does not identify precious metals bars at all. Database is not up to date with 2024 to present silver and gold coins. Does not value bullion at minimum value of weight but rather shows about half the true value of silver and gold bullion.
