Horeki is a walking app built around Japan's ancient 72 micro-seasons (shichijuni-ko), in which every day of walking brings you new season-word cards. ◆ What are the 72 micro-seasons? They divide each of the 24 solar terms into three again, marking the year in steps of roughly five days. “East wind melts the ice,” “First cherry blossoms open” — this is Japan's traditional calendar, describing the drift of nature in beautiful words. ◆ Walk to collect season cards Every day you walk is a chance to earn a card. A card drop is rolled every 2,000 steps, and cards tied to the current micro-season are more likely to appear. There are four rarity tiers: Normal, Rare, Super Rare and Ultra Rare.
