Useful guide to carry on iPhone with a few errors
For example it confuses maidenhair spleenwort (Asplenium trichomanes) with a maidenhair fern (Adiantum sp)
Satisfied
So pleased that this app has been updated. Thought I had lost it following the latest IOS update.
It may not be very sexy or technologically advanced but it covers most categories of our British wildlife as a book would do.
You do need to know some basics though to help with identification - particularly with wildflowers and birds.
It would be useful to include similar looking species as an option.

Question: if I see a plant that I am unfamiliar with, how am I supposed to find out what it is using this app?
Answer: You don’t. The only way you could use this app is if you already knew the names of all the plants and wildlife. So...... I really don’t see how this app is supposed to help anyone who isn’t an expert.
Really want my £9.99 back already☹️

Wildlife guide
Not working since os11 update.
DON’T BUY FROM MYDIGITALEARTH.COM!
Having paid for this app I didn’t expect to find it no longer functioning after the update. Please can you update the app so the people who have paid good money for it can use it again...or give us a refund perhaps? I would NOT buy any other apps from this company! It’s money wasted as they don’t keep them updated. I can no longer use an app I paid for!

Collins ap
Terrible. Your guides are the best wildlife books in the world. This app is a disgrace. Still not updated it, not been working for months. We expect better. Sb
No longer works, Shame
This was a great app but unfortunately the developers have given up on it
Disappointed
This app cost me a lot of money and now I can’t use it because it is not compatible with my iPad since I updated it. Come on Collins, your reputation is at stake here!!
Poor app
Not updated to ios11. Rubbish.
Disappointing
I like this app but have been waiting for a very long time for it to be updated so it can be used on the iPhone. Have contacted the developers who assured me (several months ago) that it was going to be updated very soon. I've had to delete it off my phone as it says it's incompatible with iOS and keeps causing the phone to crash. It was very expensive but that was fine when it worked.
Please, if you're not going to update, take it off the App Store.

Could have been great
I've had this app for a long time and I can't even remember the last time it was updated. Very limited information available and it could have been a great idea and a lot of routes they could have gone down regarding developing the app. Unfortunately it looks like they have pocketed the cash and given up so I wouldn't waist your money. Google does a much better job

Collins British wildlife guide
Very disappointing and I feel stung paying out such a lot for a pretty useless app. I don't know the names of most that I would want to look up, why aren't there colour and habitat etc groupings ? Also the picture quality is too heavy and hard to see any detail in, so dark and indistinct it's verging on awful. The whole thing is poor quality and way overcharged, I bought it today and regret it now I've seen the whole thing.
Collins you should be ashamed of this, but you are obviously raking in loads of cash based on your previously good reputation .
How do I get my money back please, it's a swizz.

Useless app
Have the book version of this app which has plants categorise by flower colour with 10 pictures to page so dead simple to find plants. On the app you can only find plant by its name, absolutely useless out in the countryside when trying to identify plants and flowers. Better off with separate plant, fish, animal, fungi, tree and bird identification apps

Little use
Poorly designed app. Not very handy to use if you don't already know what something is. Poor pictures and text. Hasn't been updated in a long time.
Avoid.
Avoid.
Disappointing - like old style website
Not a bad app, but not worth the price. It's attempted to be like the book (without the space) and missed the trick of app technologies.
collins british wildlife
not worth the money limited on the number of species
4 stars
Great app only let down is the picture quality, hopefully there is an update soon for them I payed enough!!
Disappointing!!
Downloaded this thinking it would give you lots of interesting information about GB species (body length, pug-marks, species sounds etc) but it has a tiny bit of writing not saying anything useful at all. Waste of money!!!
Ok but could be better
As useful as this App is it could be even better. It is rather surprising that a major publishing house doesn't adhere to the DDA act. Trying to read a very small description without the ability to increase the font size is a poor show. Also, equally it would be nice if you could zoom into the images to see more detail. Some of the images in some sections seem to lack in quality and are rather dull. Some subjects, for example, trees and shrubs would benefit in having two sets of images, a close up view of leaves and/or fruit and a whole view of the tree/shrub. On the basis that this is effectively an e-book and not a print version all of these points are easily implemented. If this could be done I would rate it much higher and would even pay more for the App. Even so, I still find it easier to
carry in the field than a book as I always have my iPod with me and as an on-the-spot reference it is useful.
