searching word or phrase is most convenient than any other dictionary, including Oxford and Mariam -Webster dictionary, especially, the function of clear search field is so excellent．

I wanted to be able to look up a word, get the meaning, be able to see both antonyms and synonyms, see examples of usage and as a bonus see the origins succinctly, with the ability to search easily and have the answers quickly and clearly. It performs all this without a hitch. Perfect for my uses!
WARNING about this developer
I bought an excellent Collins Spanish Dictionary that had exactly the same interface as this English dictionary. When I replaced my iPad and tried to access the app on my new iPad, I got an error saying the app was "currently unavailable in your App Store." I contacted Apple for help and got nowhere. This is totally unacceptable for a dictionary app. Harper Collins should have given some thought to existing users. And SHAME on Apple for not standing by us and making sure that apps remain available to users who buy them. I'm totally disgusted after this experience. No wonder people don't want to pay for dictionary apps. It's really the worst kind of customer service, and it's about more than the money when it would be so easy for Apple to provide the app to people who paid for it.

Excellent dictionary and thesaurus
This is an excellent and very comprehensive dictionary and thesaurus.
Only one issue 😢
Content is great but I’m facing one annoying issue in the app. When we type and search a word and then next time come back to search another word, the previous word is there and we have to delete it manually. That really annoys all of the time.
I know there’s an option in setting to delete the word but when we enable that option, the app becomes eager to delete the word and it deletes the word even when we move to another app for some reference and it annoys too when you are working on two apps at the same time and it deletes your word every time you move to another app 😢
Apart from this issue, the content and search filters are great and also it’s offline so it works smoothly and quickly. I have been using Look up app before Collins. But look up is online so it takes a little time to show meaning and also look up lacks powerful search filter.
Overall you won’t regret buying Collins app and also paying for learning and self improvement always worth it.
I hope developers would work on my shared issue and make it a more easy to use app. Thanks ☺️

Rubbish dictionary
Synonyms aren’t linked to definitions
Good dictionary; audio does not work; very poor support
The audio stopped working after my upgrade to iPhone 12, and it never worked in my iPad. Emailed the support team at Japan. It feels they don’t really care and there is no urgency. Otherwise a good dictionary; but, due to the above experience the overall rating is poor.

Doesn’t work and support is gone
This app does not work properly on my iPad Pro. The audio works but very rarely. My mail to the developer monokakido.jp could not be delivered due to the issues on their server (poorly programmed PHP?). I want my money back.

Good Dictionary & Thesaurus, But...
The Collins Dictionary and Thesaurus has a very good coverage of English language words, however, the app itself seems to be lacking in the claimed functionality. Firstly, there is no ‘help’ or ‘FAQs’ available to consult. Furthermore, despite downloading the 330MB+ Headwords File, none of the pronunciation features work either. Looking at the Version History, the app hasn’t been touched in at least three years and despite Apple saying it has compatibility with my iPad (a 2020 iPad Pro), it appears to lack the functionality described.

Made default dic. Replaced WordWeb
Spent time comparing how quickly each dictionary causes me to grasp context of unknown words. Collins surely is top 3. Mostly because of its thesaurus entries which also have sentence examples. Merriem-Webster is also equally clear. So alternating between these two.

In general, it is good enough for learner. Actually, I got the problem with pronunciation audio. I hope they can fix it soon.

It’s a smooth operating application that’s fast.
The definitions are comprehensive and a majority of them are pretty easy to understand.
You don’t need a large vocabulary to understand it.
Definitely well worth what you pay for it.
I like the settings as well because it lets you adjust together way it looks, and you can even set it to a night type style which is awesome.

Very easy to use with thesaurus integrated. And it works well with other dictionary from MONOKAKIDO. Worth the money, good to have.
