German dictionary

Great dictionary, highly recommended

Serious omissions

A good dictionary for basic level users. There are however some serious omissions. Thank God for other Apps like Reverse Context. I expected better from Collins, given the price point of this App it is very disappointing

App has its challenges on iphone

I now have this on both my iPad and iPhone. As another reviewer noted 6 years ago, it is sometimes difficult to move from verbs back to the main dictionary. Frustrating - and it doesn’t seem to be very smart.
I installed this new app recently because the one I purchased in 2013 froze on my new iPhone. It was simpler just to buy the newer version and with that, I lost all my history for the last ten years, on my iPhone at least.

Danke

Es Ist wunderbar

Why I need to pay twice for ipad and iphone

I bought this app few year ago via ipad and just now when i download the app on my iphone. I need to pay the 2nd time!!!

Verbs

Not all the verbs have explanations!!!

What happened to the old icon?

I don’t understand the new icon. Please bring back the original one!

Otherwise: Best English-German Dictionary

Update Delayed

Please update the software more often!!!

Terrible Product

After a month, I find this dictionary to be awful. It looks like the developer rushed to release the product without any quality control.

The pronunciation is terrible; it sounds like computerized sounds rather than a human speaking. Most words are chopped or spoken robotically too fast, and a very large percentage of the words are spelled rather than spoken.

For example, when playing the word “ich”, the app spells “i, c, h” instead of speaking/pronouncing the word. I started creating a list with these instances but stopped because they were too many.

The French dictionary was much better, but I do not recomend the German version. I’ll try getting a refund.

Mostly good, but ...

There are mistakes such as perfekt of umbauen (incorrect: haben umbaut, correct: haben umgebaut). That’s a critical mistake for me, a very beginner. Please check and fix.

Reseńa

Fascinado con la app ayuda a completar mi vocabulario

Great!

It is a great dictionary, with many usage examples. It has many words in it that my previous paid dicionary did not. So glad I found it.

Limited

I cannot use this app by itself, needs more colloquial expressions. A suggestion: please add the option to write a word instead of just typing. Nevertheless, it still my first go to for translation, especially for verbs and conjugation.

Useful but there's still rooms for improvement

It is very useful but it would be mighty nice if the app can pronounce the words too.

Quite a lot of errors: Föhn, angeprobiert, etc

Annoying request to rate

Should have been 5 stars, but App will continue to insist on your review

Disrupts audio playback

This has been an essential app for me ever since moving to Germany and in general an excellent tool. However, since the last update, opening the app causes any audio currently being played to stop. This is very frustrating and causes me to use other apps instead. I contacted their support over half a year ago and there have been no updates or fixes since then.

Essential app

Good use of words in everyday phrases. Verb tables are invaluable.

Not scholarly

This dictionary has the advantage of providing verb conjugations, which is helpful for me, who only have a reading knowledge of German. That, however, is not really worth forking over $25. This dictionary fails to provide the kind of diversity of definitions available on a lot of free applications and on free websites. I use Linguee's application in tandem with this application, but Linguee does not provide conjugations or less common noun inflections. You can download multiple language dictionaries through the Linguee app, so I use it for French and Italian as well. For online access, LEO.org and Linguee's website are the most helpful if your goal is to decipher German academic prose.

My go to app for German

I do come across words that aren't in this dictionary, but the majority are there and the verb conjugation is great
