Hi Mesh, We're really sorry the app didn't work for you — that's not the experience we want anyone to have with our color identifier. When everything reads as gray (even a white van), it almost always comes down to camera exposure or focus rather than the color-detection engine itself. A few quick things fix this in most cases: 1. Tap the center of the object on screen first — this locks focus and exposure before the color picker samples the surface. 2. Keep the lighting even. Heavy shadow or strong backlight desaturates the frame, so the scanner reads shadow tones instead of the real color. 3. Get closer, around 10–30 cm (4–12 in), so it samples the actual surface rather than the shadow around it. We also shipped accuracy improvements in the new version. If you can update and try once more in normal daylight, you should get reliable readings on white, pastel, and paint colors. If it's still off, just email us at support@zeisoft.com with a screenshot — we want to make this right.
