Not accurate

Now I know I’m color blind but I was suspicious that the app scanned a color wrong so I rescanned the color and I tried 8 times and it identified 6 different colors/undertones. Not reliable

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback, and I am sorry the results felt inconsistent. The app only reads the color inside the target circle, so a small movement or a textured or shadowed spot under the circle can change the result. Grays and other neutral colors are also the hardest for any camera to read. They have very low saturation, so the hue is poorly defined, and a small tint in the lighting or a white balance shift between frames can push the same gray toward a different undertone on each scan. More saturated colors have a strong, well defined hue, so they scan far more reliably under the same conditions. Natural daylight, a steady hand, and the circle held on a flat solid area give the most repeatable readings. Still, that much variation is more than I want, and I am working on making neutral colors more stable. If you would share what you were scanning, I would be glad to dig in. You can reach me through the support link on the app page.
