Ignore the clueless negative reviews

This is a simple but functional RGB color wheel. The negative reviews are mistaking it for an incorrect RYB color wheel (used by painters in a subtractive pigment world). If you don’t know the difference, google color theory and color vision. It'll be a wonderful rabbit hole ending in the realization that color isn’t real.

The only complaint I have with this app is the inability to mix hues of different lightness or saturation in the same scheme. Real life schemes usually need more variety in multiple dimensions.

Colors wrong place on wheel

As other reviews state colors wrong place. Red and blue are not complements! Even the directions say red and green are complements. Otherwise would be a nice app to have.

Should have listened

The colors ARE in the wrong place.
This is a simple app. Useless

This is such a handy app for artists!

I was hesitant to try this app because of some older reviews that stated it was inaccurate, but I’m so glad I did! (Any inaccuracies have been fixed, by the way). I enjoy painting, and had considered purchasing a manual color wheel from an art supply store, but this app does everything I need! You can slide along the wheel to choose a color, then select from various color schemes (complimentary, analog, split, triad, square, rectangle). The basic colors on the wheel itself are fixed, but there is a slider for changing the tint/shade and transparency, so the tinted/shaded colors that you choose will appear on the corners of the screen, outside of the wheel. Click “show,” and the tinted/shaded you’ve chosen will appear as a palette of larger swatches, along with their corresponding RGB and UI Color values. And palettes can be shared with a “share” function. Thank you for creating such a functional app! I love it!

Easy to use, informative

I find this app really useful for design and art purposes, sometimes you just need a bit of guidance when choosing colours that compliment each other. Really appreciate the help button which explains each type of colour theory and the best way to use it. 5/5 :)

Needs fixing

This colour wheel is simple which is exactly what I was looking for. But when I touch/slide the wheel as the instructions advise, the selection circles jump all over the place. Thus the wrong set of colours are selected. A basic simple & useful colour wheel……but this app needs fixing

Wrong colour wheel

This colour wheel is wrong, it has a cyan in-between green and yellow for some reason.. don't try and use this in a class, it's simply not correct.

Yellow is. It on color wheel!

I would like this app to show my students color schemes if you would fix the color wheel!!! Yellow is opposite of violet! Instead of yellow you have a bright blue-green in yellow's spot.

So very bad

This is the worst app I have ever downloaded

Bad

Blue does not go between yellow and green. Ever.

Inaccurate color wheel

Light blue and violet are never complementary. So are the others.
