Awful app. Does t include lights or shapes which is really the one you need. Much better free apps.
A good buy, recommended
This covers it all, and was useful for my skippers exam. I keep it on my 'phone and it's handy to refer to as it covers all the navigation rules of the road as well as sound signals e.g. restricted vis, distress etc. Good value, and nice clear graphics.

I like to have the boating rules with me when out on the water, and this does what it says on the tin, and does it well. Better than others I've looked at so worth the money.

Col Regs Test
When viewing the test questions on my iPhone 4 I am not able to see the complete option in the multiple choice questions- eg. One short blast - can only read "altering course to ...." Cannot get the words starboard or port displayed to choose the answer! There were other questions that you had to guess the missing words to make a choice on too! Not ideal!

Chops off text
When using 'test yourself' on iPhone 5 it is chopping off the text so you can't see the full responses. This makes it very difficult when multiple answers are chopped off and you have no apparent way of viewing the response... Then if you select a response eg a) then you will be told correct or incorrect but you still don't know what infact the full response was you selected so the learning is very painful.
If this is fixed it will be a five star app!!

Dumb app
I bought it for the "Test yourself" feature. There's like 20 questions and then the test is done... And when you take the test again, it repeats the same questions. I could have done that for free.
Not great
Could be a great app if the access to the complete rules was possible. The self test is very disappointing since it does not cover all the rules and repeat itself in the same order. Also in the test it would be conveniente to be able to access the rule related to the question. Overall, an almost useless app.

This app has some good info. But when it comes to light config you have to buy another app for lights. Worth

Clear diagrams and cross reference to rules. But answer to the last question in the test is wrong! Careless. I have told them, but got no reply. So 2 star service for possible 4/5 star app.

Good for revision and to have with you anytime but question 28 in the test yourself section gives an incorrect answer. The correct answer is " pilot vessel making way"
Top marks for top graphics
Stunning graphics inside this app: I could ogle all day! It's helped me distinguish the shapes, colour schemes, sound signals, locations and markings for most structures in the water like buoys and lighthouses. It's got all the info on buoyage in both regions A (Europe) and B (USA, Japan). The test yourself quiz is great for testing other members of the crew during a round of drinks or fellow skippers. You won't regret this one.

COLREGS
I purchased this app (and its sister app "Nav Lights & Shapes") to study for a USCG nav rules exam. It wasn't that helpful. The self-test feature works okay, but doesn't allow you to keep track of your progress. Most annoying for me is that one must purchase two separate apps to cover the entire COLREGs, and US Inland Rules are not Included. (Okay, I know it is a UK app.) One is better off simply studying the COLREGS itself.

Stunning visuals
I'd like to say the same thing as they did for the sister app ColRegs Nav lights: the graphics look stunning on my iPad 3 and having is my fingertips means a lot going rusty when another water. thanks guys.

OK, but disappointing. Rules should be explained with situation diagrams and I struggle to understand why you have NOT included THE most important rule in the IRPCS namely, RULE 2 !!!!
