ComfyReader

ComfyReader is a quiet place to read and listen. Pick a classic, settle into a scene of rain on the window or a crackling fire, and read, or let the book be read to you. A LIBRARY OF CLASSICS Browse 1,530 public-domain books from Standard Ebooks, carefully produced editions of novels, stories, poetry and nonfiction, from A to Z. Search by title or author, download in a tap and read offline. Every catalog book is free. YOUR OWN BOOKS Import your own DRM-free EPUB files and text PDFs from Files, the Share Sheet, or by drag and drop on iPad. PDF reading is in Beta: a Reader view reflows a text PDF for comfortable reading. LISTEN 25 catalog books come with a free audiobook, narrated by Storyteller, our own voice. Words light up as they're read and pages turn on their own. Any book can also be read aloud for free with Apple's voices, right on your device. NARRATE THIS BOOK Want Storyteller to read a book that has no audio yet, even one you imported? Narrate This Book turns any English book into Premium Audio with a single purchase priced by the book's length, shown before you buy. The chapter you're on is narrated first, usually ready in minutes, and the app shows when the rest of the book will be ready. Your audiobook downloads to your device, and Restore Purchases brings it back on your other devices. READER SCENES Eight scenes set the mood with a soft looping video and matched sound: Lodge Fireplace, Café, Rain on Window, Rain on Tent, Thunderstorm, Ocean Waves, Mountain Snowfall and Starship Bridge. Every scene's sound is free, and Lodge Fireplace and Café are free in full. SPOTLIGHT READING Follow an audiobook one sentence at a time: only the sentence being read, large and centered, with the rest of the page out of sight. MADE FOR EVERY SCREEN Designed for iPhone, iPad and iPhone Duo. Your library, reading positions, bookmarks and settings sync through your own private iCloud. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account and no sign-up. No ads, no third-party analytics and no tracking. EXTRA COMFY Reading, the catalog, imports, Read Aloud and the free audiobooks are free. The Extra Comfy subscription adds, on every book: • The video and visuals of every reader scene • Words highlighted as they're read, with pages that turn on their own • Spotlight Reading On the 25 books with a free audiobook, all of this is free for everyone. Extra Comfy is $5.99 a month or $49.99 a year in the US (prices vary by country), and starts with a 7-day free trial. It can be shared with your family through Family Sharing. Premium Audio for a book is a separate one-time purchase and doesn't need the subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings after purchase. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
