Confidence for every short field departure. Commitment Point is designed to help pilots maintain greater awareness of their position during the take-off roll. By combining GPS positioning with runway measurements and heading information, the app provides a live estimate of your progress along the runway, including the remaining distance to your chosen commitment point and the runway end. Whether you're operating from a familiar aerodrome or a remote grass strip, Commitment Point has been designed to work entirely offline once your app has been installed, making it suitable for locations where an internet connection simply isn't available. On shorter runways, margins can be limited. Many pilots choose to establish a commitment point (sometimes referred to as a point of no return) before commencing the take-off roll. Commitment Point helps you monitor your progress towards that point, providing a clear visual and numerical indication of your position so you can maintain greater situational awareness throughout the take-off. If you don't know the runway length or heading, Commitment Point can help you measure them directly using your device, making it equally useful at unfamiliar airfields and farm strips. Before departure, the app calibrates your starting position using GPS before tracking your progress in real time throughout the take-off roll.
