About

Common Source puts you in control of your digital identity. Create your account in seconds, with no email, password or server required. Your blockchain-based identity stays on your device. Common Source connects farmers, cities and citizens across regional food networks. One portable identity lets you take part across the ecosystem. How it works: • Create your account: a keypair is generated locally on your device. No email, password or server is involved. • Build your profile: add only what you choose, such as your name, location and description. Everything stays on your phone. • Join a network: use the same identity across networks and control what each one can see. Core principles: • Own your identity: your identity and profile are stored on your device, with no server backup. • One identity across networks: use the same blockchain-based identity across regional food networks. • Choose what to share: networks must request permission for each piece of data. Recovery and security: Your twelve-word recovery phrase is the only way to recover your account if you lose access to your device. No server can reset it.

What's New in Common Source

v1.1.0

September 13, 2026

- Stays connected: the app now reconnects on its own if your connection drops, so paired sessions keep working without you re-pairing. - No more surprise disconnects: removed the timeout that used to drop the connection a few minutes after pairing. - Clearer sign-in: refreshed the Connect screen and sign-in steps so it's easier to know what to do. - Fresh look: updated app name to "Common Source" and a redrawn splash screen.
