180° off

Downloaded this app so I could show my young daughter the direction alongside an analog compass as she’s watching the needle rotate within the housing. As we were facing due east, with the sun rising ahead of us the app showed a giant W. I rotated to calibrate and we got an S to the left and N to the right, exactly 180° incorrect. I’m glad I wasn’t using this for navigation.
