ConcertLove

Version 2.0 is the one where your archive stops belonging to a phone and a concert stops being something you kept to yourself. YOUR OWN ACCOUNT ConcertLove used to be a setlist.fm username and whatever password you typed. Now it is an account of its own — with your email address or Sign in with Apple — and your archive lives with it. Lose the phone and everything is still there. Sign in somewhere else and so is your history, your notes, your ratings, the songs you added yourself. Linking setlist.fm is now optional. If you have an account there, your marked concerts line up with it. If you do not, nothing here needs one. THE PEOPLE WHO WERE THERE The larger half of this release. A concert is rarely something you did alone, so the app finally treats it that way. Friends have their own tab. Send a request to somebody who uses ConcertLove, and once you are connected you can ask each other along: "were you at this one too?" Accept, and the night lands in both archives — with each of you standing in the other's list of who was there. And then the part that turned out to matter most: a concert you were both at becomes a conversation. It opens with the one question worth answering — how was it? — and from there it is a thread between the people who were actually in that room. Nobody else can read it. Not everyone you go to concerts with has the app. Send them a link to a night you shared and they can pick it up from there. A profile photo, if you want one, so the two Davids in your list are not both a circle with a D in it. EVERYTHING IS NOW INCLUDED The premium tier is gone. Every feature that used to sit behind it — unlimited concerts, PDF exports, calendar import, the statistics — is simply part of the app. One purchase, no subscription, nothing held back. STATISTICS, REBUILT Six sections that know when to stay quiet: how many shows, which artist you have seen most, the venue you keep coming back to, your busiest year. They only work because the archive is complete, so they got the attention they deserved. MARK IT WHERE YOU ARE No signal on a festival field is no longer a reason to wait. Mark the show there; it is sent when you have a connection, and it keeps the moment you marked rather than the moment it went up. Shows that have not happened yet have their own list, and ConcertLove watches the artists already in your history to tell you what they have announced. Once the night has passed, a concert you typed in yourself quietly finds its own setlist. A NEW START The four drawn pages that introduced the app described a version that no longer exists. Five new panels in their place, and this time VoiceOver can read every one of them. SMALLER THINGS WORTH KNOWING - Deleting your account is a button in the app. It works immediately and takes everything with it, on the server and on this phone. - If somebody makes a conversation unpleasant you can leave it, block them, or report them — straight from the message. - Forgotten passwords have a way out that actually works, from any device. - Signing out no longer leaves anything of yours behind for the next account on the same phone. - Still no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind. The thread is the part I would open first. It is a small thing to build and a strange one to describe, and it only makes sense once you have stood outside a venue afterwards with somebody, both looking for the words.
