What's New in Concord Civic Compass

1.2.1

October 26, 2026

Ballot measures Measures now lead with the question they ask, written by Concord from the official text, so you can see the decision before you read the full language. A Yes to the question is a Yes vote. California measures show who is paying for them: money raised to support and to oppose, and the state's official list of largest contributors, with the date and the source. Concord adds no judgement to the record. The Yes and No lines on eleven measures were corrected to match the official text. Reading Tap an underlined term in a story, bill or measure for a short definition. Tap a side name on any issue meter to see what that side stands for. Bills Filter by status: In progress or Decided. Your filters stay set until you reset them. Compass Insights shows a direction only when your answers give it one, and reads as the answer and the counts behind it. Your story Every party and movement name opens what it stands for. The card comparing you with everyone who shares answers says who is counted. After your first pass it opens as your early read, and it stays on your card while the rest of the deck loads. Also in this update: one close button everywhere, dialogs that dim the whole screen, the first-run tour ends on your first pass, and section headings work with the screen reader's headings navigation.

Finally a way to organize my beliefs

Whenever I want to “talk politics”, especially with family that doesn’t agree, I always struggle to give examples of what I mean. I am not all on one side of the political spectrum and it’s great to see that in a visual way. Highly recommend.

Finally, a political app that helps us understand each other

I’ve really been enjoying this app! One of my favorite things about it is that it gives me a new perspective when talking about politics with my dad. We don’t always see things the same way, but Concord helps us find the areas where we actually agree and better understand where the other person is coming from. It makes political conversations feel a lot more productive and a lot less divisive.

I also love being able to track and follow bills that I’m passionate about. It’s nice to have an easy way to stay informed about what’s actually happening with issues I care about, rather than just relying on headlines or social media.

If you want to be more informed, understand your own views better, and have better conversations with people who may see things differently, this app is definitely worth checking out.
