1.11.3: * Confer can now finish generating a response while the app is in the background. Like a slow cooker, except what’s simmering is encrypted and may have opinions about your spreadsheet. * We also made long chats easier to navigate: hold or drag the message rail to scrub through history, with dates along the way and fewer accidental teleports when reaching for Send. * Plus, we fixed keyboard gymnastics, stubborn delete confirmations, lost drafts after limit warnings, and a small parade of web attachment bugs involving cameras, photos, translations, and Markdown files. Product discovery got smarter, too. 1.11.0: Confer can now roll up its sleeves—privately. Ask it to fill a PDF, edit an attachment, create a document, spreadsheet, presentation, or image, run code, and return the finished file directly in your conversation.

Great idea, execution needs work

I was heavily evangelizing this idea with my friends. An idea of using cloud based inference models with true privacy of using a Device to TEE encryption so I can be open to use frontier tier models the way I would like to. I was okay paying for the higher tier as well. I was a subscriber for 3 months. The dream ended today when the service was unavailable the whole day. There is *no* support. There is no way to see the status page. No way to contact someone. That’s where I draw the line. I am paying money for a service and I unfortunately didn’t get it. I have supported Signal for years and I expected a similar class of service but I am disappointed. Sorry, Moxie.

I like it a lot but

It’s overpriced and I don’t even know what models I’m using and if they’re worth the price.
There are better alternatives like tinfoil and maple AI (both $10 cheaper) which also use Secure Enclaves, and we know they use good models like Kimi k2.6 and GLM 5.2.
Feels like I’m paying for moxie celebrity status, kinda like some Apple devices.

Great Service, But Poor Performance

A solid service led by a reputable developer, but the app needs work before it justifies its price. Currently, scrolling through long conversations feels sluggish, revisiting old chats brings long load times, and performance degrades during text rendering. The service offers state-of-the-art security and end-to-end encryption, but until the app improves, I think it would be a tough sell for those considering being a member.
