About

Are you Connected? This app finally gives you the answer, fast. A clean interface shows how responsive your network is and what you can try when something is wrong, with advanced diagnostic tools for the technically inclined. Everything runs on your device: no account, no ads, no tracking. The tools: • Ping - Measure packet loss and response time in real time • HTTPS Ping - Measure how long a connection to port 443 takes, also where regular ping is blocked • DNS - Test and compare your DNS against well-known providers to see if you should switch • Lookup - Go from a name to IP addresses and back, with your own DNS or Cloudflare • Advanced LAN scanner - Find out which devices are on your network, and which ports they have open • Port scanner - Check the open ports on a host to confirm everything is the way you want it • Path MTU - Find the largest packet size your network lets through without fragmenting it • Subnet calculator - Calculates the network address, broadcast and number of hosts. (Yes, because I can never remember it myself.) • Traceroute - See the route your packets take to the target • Status for Wi-Fi, cellular, VPN and Personal Hotspot - including the data sent and received while your hotspot is active The app also lets you know when a VPN or tunnel is active, or when a hotel or café sign-in page might affect your results. Apple Watch, iPhone Duo and Live Activities: • Apple Watch - Connected or not, the response time and a short history, also as a complication • iPhone Duo - Folded, unfolded, or next to another app in Split View. Unfolded, you can run two tests side by side. • Live Activities - Follow ping, traceroute, the LAN and port scans and HTTPS Ping on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. A test pauses after a short while in the background; tap Resume when you're back. I built Connected? because I was tired of connecting to hotel Wi-Fi, or seeing a full 5G icon in the corner, and still not getting a single website to load. Is the site down, is it the app, or am I simply offline? Now you don't have to wonder: Connected? gives you the answer almost instantly. Privacy is the foundation: • No account, no ads, no analytics SDK, no third-party crash reporter. • Nothing goes to the developer. The status check contacts a few fixed addresses (Cloudflare and Apple); the tests contact only the targets and DNS servers you choose. • Location access is used only to read the Wi-Fi name (SSID), never to track where you are. • A one-time purchase. No subscription. No in-app purchases.

What's New in Connected?

1.3

October 28, 2026

New: iPhone Duo support. Use the app folded, unfolded, or next to another app in Split View. Unfolded, Network details shows two columns, so you can run two tests side by side. New: Apple Watch app. Check your connection from your wrist: connected or not, the response time and a short history, also as a complication. Also new in 1.3: • More Live Activities. Traceroute, the LAN scanner, the port scanner and HTTPS Ping now show in the Dynamic Island and on the Lock Screen, just like ping. If you leave the app, a running test pauses after a short while; tap Resume when you're back. • Lookup. Turns a name into IP addresses and back, with your own DNS or Cloudflare. It replaces Reverse DNS. • HTTPS Ping. Measures how long a connection to port 443 takes, handy when regular ping is blocked. • A new look with Liquid Glass, and Network details opens faster. • You can now stop the MTU test and the port scanner midway. • More accurate Path MTU results, and fixes in the LAN scanner and the DNS test.
