Love a new traffic app tailor to Houston

An alternative to google that includes driving navigation, carpool, public transit and bike. Love it is local and I am more motivated to carpool and bike!

Rewarding and easy to use and adapt to!

I honestly really like this app and have been telling my friends about it. I carpool basically everywhere I go so I really enjoy the carpool feature and the rewards it’s givesπŸ˜‰. I think the different features are all really nice but I haven’t tried out the metro and bus ones before since I don’t like in an area with many, but overall I think this app is very easy to adapt to and much more rewarding than the typical GPS apps. Although I sometimes get logged out once in a while it’s not that inconvenient since it doesn’t happen that often. All my data is always intact and usually works perfectly!

Lots of glitches

It pays sometimes & sometimes it doesn’t. U can’t change the trips!

App is glitching

The app is taking a long time to load. It also is putting me in an incorrect starting point. Sometimes when I’ve tried to get directions, it shows me starting from a different location miles away, and there’s no way to correct it. When I pull up to my destination, the trip doesn’t complete.

Weird set up warning

Please be careful, at set up they will prompt an unknown email address instead of yours, usually a location from Asia. This is not reliable. Never use sign in with Google or other service

Overall, not a bad navigation app. However, lacking features like the ability to delete items from (or clear out) the search list and a dark mode puts it a few steps behind the other popular apps.

App unusable

Why does the app become unusable when a new update is pushed out? It is clear the company that builds this app has never actually tested it in the real world. Anybody who uses this app is going to open it up in the mornings and find when they get prompted to update, they are unable to pay for their bus ride at a moment's notice because OMG GASP! The app needs an update before you can do anything! And what happened to the daily rewards? Why has that gone away?

Issues with log in coins

Requires your mobile number

I never got past signing in to try the app. I was ok with providing my name and email, but not my mobile number (they rejected a google voice number).

Hi there, we ask users to create an account with a phone number for your protection, particularly as you access our unique features, including the ability to earn rewards, log trips for employers, and find carpooling buddies, in addition to receiving safety messages. However, we now have a guest account option, so you can use the app without providing a phone number.

Cannot activate tickets after update

Haven't been able to activate tickets after being forced to update. By far the worst issue with the app is how long it takes for tickets to activate as well as being prompted to update the app on its launch right when it's needed most to be functional.

Unusable for bicycles

I loaded this in September 2022 and keep testing it from time to time. I send comments to the developers (routing through closed gates and fenced areas, routing on freeway frontage roads instead of immediately adjacent parallel trails and residential streets, incorrect placement of addresses) and these flaws have not improved. The battery drain seems lower but I don’t know if that’s the app or me scrapping my iPhone 8. I need to check if it is still giving ETA of hours as I approach my destination; that may be fixed. To summarize, I am ashamed of the poor performance of my tax $. I expected better of them.

Thanks for your feedback. When possible, we provide multiple routes for cyclists to choose from based on their personal preferences. Experienced cyclists may prefer riding on more direct routes on larger, busier streets, whereas other riders may prefer longer routes along less-crowded streets utilizing Houston's High Comfort Bike Lanes for an added layer of safety. We're routinely making updates to the app and appreciate your interest in helping us improve.

A true gift to Houston

All I have to say is, I don’t know how I traveled in Houston without ConnectSmart.

Nice app but....

This app would be great if it had Apple Car Play support. Hopefully they will release an update that provides it.

Must have for Metro riders

This is a wonderful app. I’m so glad someone told me bout this app.

Promising but needs more work

This app is great, exactly what we need here in Houston! The only thing is it keeps crashing even when just doing simple tasks like putting in an address to start navigating. Not reliable enough for me to choose over Apple or Google Maps yet, but I hope to see some updates address this and other user issues!
