What's New in Contour

1.0.4

August 20, 2026

Your trail no longer disappears when you pause. Tapping Inactive used to wipe everything you'd walked. Now it stays exactly where it was, and tapping Active picks up where you left off. Your trail still only holds your last 30 minutes of walking — and the new trail clock shows exactly how much you have left, whether you're moving or paused. • Pausing and resuming now buzz differently, so a pocket tap can't end your walk without you knowing • A trail clock shows how long you have before your trail starts trimming • Your global rank now greets you when you come back • Best Walk and your longest reigns added to your profile • Landmark Legends loads faster • Fixed a crash on poor connections, and a bug where an activated boost looked like it did nothing

worst app ever

It so called uses gps to track us, yet when we walk, ride a skateboard, bike, it decides weather or not your going to fast, I walked 2 miles, and right towards the end it restarted and took all my progress away, this app is truly garbage

Response from developer

You're right, and this one's on us — not on how fast you were going. You just identified a new bug in how Contour reads GPS when the app is in your pocket or your screen is locked. iOS holds those location updates and delivers them in a burst when you pull your phone back out, and Contour was misreading that burst as impossible speed — so it wiped your trail and then blamed you for driving. You did nothing wrong. Walking, skating, and biking are all well inside what the app is built to allow. There is a speed limit but all of those should be acceptable. We've found the cause and the fix is in the next update. Losing two miles right at the end is infuriating, and I'm sorry. If you're up for trying again after the update lands 1.0.3, email me at contoursupport@gmail.com and I'll get you sorted. — Jim, Contour
