About

CookingOils answers the question you actually have at the stove: is this the right oil for what I am about to do, and if not, what is? Twenty oils and fats, across eight cooking traditions - Mediterranean, East Asian, South Asian, Middle Eastern, European, American, African and pan-tropical. Extra virgin olive oil and the refined light version of the same oil. Toasted sesame and light sesame. Ghee, mustard oil, red palm, argan, Styrian pumpkin seed, high-oleic sunflower, rice bran, avocado, coconut, walnut, hazelnut, peanut, canola, grapeseed and olive pomace. WHAT EACH ONE CARRIES - Smoke point, with what it is actually good for at that temperature - What it tastes like, and what it is made from - What to use it for, and what to keep it away from - What to pair it with, and roughly what it costs - How it came to be used, and what to look for on the label when you buy it ASK THE OIL COACH For the question the table does not answer. What can I substitute for this? Will it survive the heat I have in mind? Why does my bottle taste bitter? The coach knows why smoke points move - free fatty acid content, not the fat itself, which is why an old bottle smokes earlier than a fresh one and why the refined version of an oil takes far more heat than the extra virgin. KITCHEN LOG Keep notes against any oil - what you cooked, how it behaved, what to do differently. Stored on your iPhone, never sent anywhere. FREE AND PRO All twenty oils, every smoke point and buying note, and the kitchen log are free and stay free. You also get 3 coach asks a day. CookingOils Pro removes that daily limit and nothing else - there is no content behind it. PRIVACY No login, no email, no analytics SDKs. A coach ask sends only the oil you are looking at, your question, and a per-install identifier used to count the free daily asks. Built in Australia. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in App Store account settings. What's New in CookingOils

1.1

August 5, 2026

This update fixes things that should never have shipped. - The oil coach was answering through another app's server. It gave advice about salt while you were reading about cooking oil, and it never saw which oil you had open. It now runs on CookingOils' own backend, is told the oil and its smoke point, and knows what refining and fat composition do to both. - The first tab said "Salts". It says Oils. - The Pro screen advertised a "library of classic wines" and called the product "CookingCookingOils Pro". It now shows the billed amount plainly, says that Pro only lifts the 3-a-day coach limit, and links Terms and Privacy properly. - About described rice varieties. It describes this app. - Privacy, Terms and Support moved to cookingoils.keenshift.ai, and Support is now linked from Settings.
