Very easy. And fun!

Recipe sites always drag on and on before they give you the instructions. But this app gets straight to the point. And it does it smoothly and cleanly. And it’s kind of fun (love the robot chef helper!). There’s a VERY quick interview to get to started and that was fun too. I always end up cooking the same things over and over. But this has made it easy to add real options to my repertoire. Try it!

Great recipe keeper

This is a really good app to store recipes. The recipes it comes up with are good and easy to follow. I’m not a great cook and I can use it easily. It has a lot of features that make me more excited to use it and experiment in cooking.

So Bummed

I wasn’t aware that there was a free version recipe limit. I even searched in the app advertisement to see if I could find something, and I don’t see any mention of this. When you have met or exceeded the free app limits, you aren’t permitted to ask Lyle anything anymore, therefore you cannot modify your current recipes if you locate an error. The edit icon also doesn’t work to modify existing recipes. I cannot ask AI to propose a recipe should I decide to delete a recipe. I’ve deleted several in the hopes that I could open up my options, but sadly I’m unable to. It seems I’m locked into where I am now which will have me looking for a new app to use. I understand that there will be new developments, however, I do feel that there should be some dedication to the users and the functionality that they have become accustomed instead of rendering those unusable in order to sign the user to the advanced application.

Hello! Thank you so much for your review. We're sorry to hear you experience with Cookpanion wasn't great, and we understand your concerns. Recently we did introduce a paid in-app subscription that allows users to use all of the features of the app with unlimited access. This was done to ensure we would be able to continue to support the app. Free accounts are limited on the number of recipes they can save, but we were conscious of existing users: all of your recipes that you have saved before the change remain. We would also like to add that you can still generate recipes with AI, even with a free account. I thought it was going to be cool but unfortunately it gave me the completely wrong recipe and ruined my meal.

Flawed

I thought my spouse and I were crazy, but we see now this app is severely flawed when entering our meals into the planner. Everything is off by a day. And the recipe AI is so unreliable creating more work. Currently deleted and searching for something better.

App used to be good but not anymore

There used to be features that made this app great such as linking to your shopping app and adding your meal plan to a shopping list to automatically purchase them. I stopped using it for a while but came back to find that the app somehow got a lot worse. Likely going to use one that links with my shopping to seamlessly find recipes, plan, shop, and cook like emeals or Cooklist

The only thing better is that this app helps you cook step by step, so maybe for someone who has no interest in using an app to plan and shop, but rather just cook.

Don't get this app because

Shopping list doesnt work

For example if your recipe calls for 2 cups of chicken and you add it to a list it will simply say 2 chicken. I dont have time to go back through and add a measurement to every single ingredient- that is why im using an app.

Laggy and constantly loading

This app looks like it’s fantastic, and I really want to use it. But since “creating an account” and at the Home Screen it is constantly loading, saying “Good evening _______👋”. Going to what I assume is a “My Profile” page which I wouldn’t know since after I tap the user icon it’s just a blank buffering screen. I signed in through Apple, encountered this problem, uninstalled the app, reinstalled it, tried creating a profile the old fashioned way which started buffering IMMEDIATELY and I wasn’t able to do anything, including get to the home screen. so then went back and tried again with my Apple account and it’s been the same. This has been a process with hours between attempts. I hope this changes so I can use the app to its fullest and change my review, because this is a pretty unusable bug.

I think there’s a bug

Im seeing a majority of 5 stars so is it just me that the “cook this” feature isn’t working? It has only worked with one recipe so far but all the others when I press the button it closes the app. Is it just me? I think there might be a bug.

Not impressed so far

I just downloaded the app spent 20 min adding ingredients from my pantry. I tried to have it make recipe and it just kept spinning, didn’t come up with any results.
Then I went back to my ingredients list to add a couple things I hit the clear button by accident and everything I entered was gone without a warning.
Seems like it only can handle a few ingredients not everything you actually keep on hand

Love… but where is import via web?

Absolutely love this app in every way! However, until recently, there was an option to paste a recipe from the web. Has that been removed?

We’re glad you’ve enjoyed using our app. As for your question, the feature which allows you to import recipes from the web was temporarily disabled in the most recent update for fixes and improvements. We will be adding it back in the next update, which is coming soon.
