About
The Copernicus Trail leads through Warmia in northern Poland, following the traces of Nicolaus Copernicus — the castles of the Warmian chapter, cathedrals, museums and the places where the astronomer lived, worked and made his observations.
WHAT IS INSIDE
• 95 places along the Trail — castles and fortifications, churches, museums, parks and sites directly connected with Copernicus. Each with a description, address and photographs.
• 85 narrated stories, in Polish and in English. A recording is downloaded on first play and stays on your phone.
• Tour mode — the app starts the story of a landmark by itself as you approach it. Narration keeps playing with the screen locked, with controls on the lock screen.
• A map of the Trail with the route and every site, grouped into readable clusters.
• 3D and augmented reality — models of astronomical instruments and reconstructions. Examine a quadrant, an astrolabe or a triquetrum from every side, or place it in your own surroundings in AR.
• A gallery of 18 portraits of Copernicus, from Renaissance likenesses to the painting by Jan Matejko.
• The astronomer's biography and an educational section with animated instruments.
• Two languages, Polish and English, switched in the settings.
NO ACCOUNTS, NO TRACKING
The app has no user accounts, collects no data about you and runs no analytics. Location is used only to show your position on the map and to trigger narration in tour mode — it never leaves your device.
Developed at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Poland.
