Terrible. Makes mistakes the very first chess programs already knew to avoid.
No last move shown. There is no indication that your opponent has moved or what the move was. Hope you plan on staring at the board until your opponent makes a move. Or hope you can keep the entire board in your head to see the move. Or take a screenshot of the board at every move. Seriously, the very first chess programs ever made knew to do this.
The ai is also terrible. It just moves one piece back and forth over and over again until it loses. And that is on its highest level.
The instructions do have a nice “example” feature that helps, but it is laid out poorly. The moves the pieces can make are the last things described.
The game does not seem very compelling, and this app is just atrocious. This shouldn’t even be in Alpha at this state.

Thank you for your review and feedback. We have just updated the game to include last move highlighting and we have also significantly improved the AI. This is our first digital game, as we are primarily board game designers. We understand it might be a little rough around the edges, but we hope that the core game loop is fun and engaging. We are not done updating the game for what it is worth!
