Best pedal, worst app
I don’t think I’ve ever had my love for a piece of hardware so tested by my hatred of the software I have to use to unlock the full potential of the product. Why do I have to delete the app every time there’s an update? It’s a bummer when your enthusiasm to play guitar slowly drains away because of the technical issues of an IOS app.

User Interface
Love the sound of all the Cortex devices! Controlling the pedal and presets with this app works pretty well. However, it’s difficult to figure out the UI for downloading presets, captures, etc from the cloud. Takes some getting used to.
Bluetooth functionality lacking
Establishing Bluetooth connection after the iPhone screen locks requires removing power from the Nanocortex and relaunching the app. I would prefer to keep playing my guitar vs having to power cycle the Nanocortex
Terrible. Rarely loads content.
Nothing but blank screens. So unstable. Some days you’ll see content. Other days, nothing. Pretty useless.
iPad formatting
Overall great app! It would be nice to have it formatted for the iPad screen
Connection issues
Definitely a learning curve to figure out the cloud software but once acclimated its easy the biggest problem is connectivity, i have the newest iPhone and unless my phone is laying on top of the nano it will not connect. This is horrible. I was so excited that i didn’t have to sit on the floor and program my pedal board but quickly shot down as soon as i got the pedal. I think im going to return it and go back to Tonex. This sucks i really like everything else about the nano.

Can’t update app
Couldn’t update app after deleting and reinstalling many times. Did a factory reset as per support. Lost all presets and now when I install the app, I don’t even have the app version I had. It’s an older version with out the past updates. Very very disappointing!!
Works well half the time
I love the nano cortex but the app lets it down. Frequent issues dropping connection, inability to delete or reorder presets (or even search / filter saved captures) are all simple fixes that could make this app great
Please make offline app for Nano Cortex
The app actually does work well, but to use the Nano Cortex to its real potential, you need this app. The app for the Nano Cortex should be its own separate app. This app can only be opened if you have an internet connection, so if you don’t have internet where you are, you don’t get to use the Nano Cortex to its real potential. This could be fixed if NeuralDSP would just make a separate app to control the Nano Cortex and make it available offline. Please do this NeuralDSP

Capture Bug
You can create your own captures and use them on the device but the ability to upload them to the cloud or share them with others is broken at the moment. You can't even view the details of your own captures. You simply get a blank loading screen. This has been going on for weeks. Emailed support. They are aware that there is a bug in the app but could not tell me when they expect it to be fixed. Completely unacceptable to pay this much for a device and not be able to use one of its main features!

Great with Nano Cortex, but update broke something
Great app! Works really well with the Nano Cortex. But since the last update, whenever I switch to another app and come back, it says I need an internet connection (even though I have one). The message goes away on its own after like 15 seconds. This is causing a lot of friction during rehearsals.
Perfect
Perfect companion with the quad cortex. I’ve seen lots of bad reviews but can confirm they have been patched and it works like a dream.
Please make Nano Cortex available offline
The app works great, no issues or bugs. However, to get the most out of the Nano Cortex, you need this app to work, and it does not work offline. Please make that section of the app available offline, or break it off into its own app and make that app available offline.
Cannot work without internet
This app is incapable of even starting up without an internet connection. So in order to control your hardware that cost anywhere between $700 to $2k, you need to have a random internet connection so neural dsp can push its own fledgling social network on you. And only then can you alter key things like amp/cab simulation type or overdrive gain level.
This is inexcusable and absolutely insane. Recently I was playing at a festival in the middle of a wooded area. With 1000 plus people coming to a secluded location there was no 5G or LTE to speak of. I couldn’t change any of my sounds or even tune my guitar. Absolutely ridiculous.
This aspect needs to get fixed immediately. I need to be able to control my hardware off grid or I’m going to return it and get the Tonex instead. That pedal doesn’t suffer from such an irrational issue.
I don’t care about the new tone pack from Nickelback (yes this is popping up in the feed). I especially don’t care for it when I’m doing soundcheck on a festival stage. Without another means of controlling my hardware I need this app to work in order to shape my 4 hardware presets for the circumstance at hand.
Neural DSP needs to fix this moronic issue right away. Whoever is the project manager at Neural DSP who decided the app must work with an active internet connection is an out of touch bonehead. Hopefully they get replaced by someone who knows the audience of the company rather than someone trying to forcefully push a fledgling social networking concept. Sure it’s cool to share guitar tones with people around the world. But it’s more important for a product to simply work. To whomever this isn’t an obvious fact, please stop working at Neural DSP and poisoning great products with silly visions.

What’s the point in buying an expensive unit which relies on an app if you’re not going to make the app work?

Poorly designed - developer isn’t improving the app
The user experience of saving and organising presets is very poor. There is no way to reorder or group your presets so your presets end up being a complete mess. There is also no way of reassigning cc midi values of presets, and v limited midi support in general (no way to increment up and down the list - cycling through loading the next preset with a foot switch).
I and many others have requested these features for a long time and there seems to be no interest at Neural DSP to improve the app.

No se abre la app desde iPhone 14
Descargue la app hace unos días para controlar mi nuevo Nano Cortex y la app ya no se abre.
Must have for QC users
Great app, tons of good quality captures and presets for Quad Cortex and Nano users.
Really
Everything works smoothly, but i really recommend the team to make a better UI for ipad (which is now display small like it would be on the iPhone). However even with that UI i’m really happy with all the Neural environments. Keep going ❤️
Ipad??
Will not connect the nanocortex to the M4 iPad Pro at all. Just sits and spins.
