Amazing app and UI

I love this music player due to it having a very comfortable and easy to navigate interface it also gives detailed summary about artists and auto imports audio

All I wanted.

Im not sure why this is rated so poorly. It does exactly what I’ve been looking for: play music files in a convenient manner, and it had no obtrusive and annoying ads…

To be fair, I don’t use many features like playlists and I’ve only used it for a small time so I can’t say how good the shuffle feature works. Still, it’s better than the most popular app.

Absolutely lovely

All I did was convert music video links from YouTube into mp3 files then sent them to the cosmos app. Zero ads ever, zero problems. Just don’t permeantly delete those files from your file app or else the music will all disappear because they’ve been deleted 😭learned that the hard way, which was 1000% on my inexperience. The app is pleasant to use with a friendly user interface

Could be great but misses the mark

Having to import and make playlists is clumsy as hell and needs to be automated. Shuffle is on permanently no matter what buttons are pressed or settings change. The toggle for shuffle is purely decorative and does nothing. It’s a great player if not for that. Trying to find something better.

Needs improvements

This is not a bad app, but as a regular user I suffer from using it, because it doesn’t follow UX best practices and it has a lot of bugs. I can tell this is a developing app, and it needs more time so the developers can make it perfect.

Response from developer

If you have issues report it if you want it to work on the ux i would love too. Everything is on the github.

Love

Love this i was worried i wouldn't be able to listen to my library because itunes just didnt like the formats i used but this app lets me listen to it.nice beautiful app that does what it's supposed to

Amazing job.

What a beauty. Lovely app at what it does. Some suggestions if you want se feedback:
1. if you search a song, you can’t long press to get options such as adding it to a playlist. You have to play the song first or look it up manually in the all songs sections. Same issue in the queue section.
2. You cannot create a queue/run songs of just the search results. Like some files can have the name of the artist alone and it kinda creates a playlist of that artist songs alone.
3. When you open any playlist, the last song is hidden behind the current playing song, which doesn’t look good.
4. Custom playlist order rather than alphabetical. (The playlists not the songs inside which you can sort manually which is such an underrated feature)
5. A nifty feature would be to allow us to sort songs in the all songs section ‘not in a playlist’. Like in the apple photos app. So if you like to sort all your songs in playlists, this way you can see which ones are left to do.
6. Allow us to remove songs from the queue. This is a big one.

Please add a way to turn off artist info and the artwork.

After using for a while not a fan

At first I really liked this app. But the more I used it the more it feels like it’s vibe coded. Lots of functions don’t work properly like the shuffle button when you import music it makes a bunch of random playlists

Really good music player. Lacking some quality of life/settings

I really like this app, it’s very clean looking and very simple to use. Plays music perfectly well and overall works well for my use case. The only thing I wish I could do was edit the titles, tags, artist, description, etc. for each song. Right now I have a few songs from the same artist but they show up under different artist titles and it would be nice to manually group them together. Overall this is just a nitpick and the app is great either way

Metadata editing will not be added on the app you can use other app to do that.

Good but I found a very annoying bug!

I love the way you could add offline mo3 and the simplicity of this app, but there is a very annoying bug that made me lose my wake up time be late at work: If you have an alarm set while you are playing a song or a playlist on this app, that alarm goes off in 5 seconds automatically! It seems this app tries to dominate and doesn’t let the alarm continue alarming until you turn it off. (iPhone 17 Pro Max). I hope they can fix this bug! Thanks.

More modern than the other HD players or even Apple’s without a subscription

I had to update the review

I threw 70gb of offline music into its local folder. Once I got rid of the 30 or so incompatible music files and let it re-index, the UI was smooth.

Some highlights
- The UI is very easy to adapt to.

- It supports external DAC and the option to play DSD using PCM or DoP. (I haven’t tested this yet)

- Lyrics support and artist info are extremely well done

It adds up to cosmos feeling more modern than using Apple’s offering with offline music only.

Things to be aware of,

- Indexing of your songs pauses if you open another app.

- In-car, with this app Siri will not be of use, but once the updated Siri launches things should get better.

Works as intended

I’ve tried other apps and I didn’t really like their UI. This one is simple and it works well. Only wish that we could import from other sources as well instead of just files. Also, the app could use a better icon(it feels like a sleep tracker app with the cloud)

Response from developer

i like the icons tho :(

I love it!

I genuinely love it as an app, it’s incredibly versatile and all around amazing!
if it’s not too much i’d like to ask for some additions to it if possible. I’d love if there were an option to change the cover photo of songs (that or i just haven’t found it lol) and if there was a way to modify the title and artist in-app would be great additions to it!
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Phenomenal

One of the best offline music player. The only issue i am facing is that it’s not showing up in my car play. Please fix that.

Some songs missing

Greatest app for offline music and icloud compatibility!!! However, one problem I’m facing is that a lot the songs are missing in the library even though they are in the iCloud folder. Ive tried refreshing and rescanning the library multiple times to no avail. A fix would be appreciated!

Response from developer

Hi would appreciate making a github issues with the files so i can test it myself. Be aware that not all formats are supported but a good chunk of it too.

The exact app I have been waiting on!

Years ago I stoped using a MacBook Pro and when I did I stopped syncing my music. A bunch of my music is not sold on iTunes and was locally distributed by the artist themselves years ago. I keep a copy of all of my music on a nas that gave me limited access to it. Now I can load my favorites and take them with me again.

Very underrated app, superior to other options; has the hallmarks of a high-quality android app!

This is a music app that is free, has no ads and allows for you to put music in your own folder and then it can play back all the contents of that folder! (Considered as a “playlist” in the app).

Such combination of features would be considered standard on any other system, but is definitely something special on an iOS when considering all the other alternative on the iOS App Store.

This one’s a must-have and highly underrated.

Delightful!

Wonderful little player for my local music. Wish it handled Opus metadata (especially cover art) but it’s still a young app so I’ll keep my fingers crossed for an update! Oh and it also has CarPlay functionality which is super awesome (and rare for an Opus player)!

Response from developer

Opus metadata should be handled that's odd. If you want to make an issue on github feel free to do so.

Loving it so far

I’ll skip the backstory and get to the point. I would really love to be able to use this application on my pc that uses windows, so that my music is somehow synced.

Maybe have an option to hook up a google drive to the app, so you can have music available from it on both devices at once.

I’m sure this next request would be way too much work or illegal, but I would love to see a way for music to be able to be played in the app as a streamed option like the discord boys have free streaming, but to be honest the way the app is right now is great simple open source and no trackers. I’m in love with it after moving from melodista bc they have ads and tracking and all types of things.

Response from developer

It's not the objective of the app too be able to stream but it's open source maybe futur apps will do that with cosmos as a backbone.
