What's New in Couch Game Scorer
1.1
September 20, 2026
Version 1.1 makes scoring easier and improves the reliability of tournament results, statistics, and backups. Easier result entry - Move between players and rounds with Previous and Next above the keyboard. Done hides the keyboard without leaving the page. - See Saving, Saved, or an error message when entering event results. The page's Done button replaces Save for automatically saved results. - See how many valid results have been entered in each round, with errors explained beside the relevant field. - Keep the active field and save status visible while the keyboard is open. - Match and playoff score entry also gains keyboard navigation and clearer validation. Match results still use Save, including confirmation when a change would reset playoffs. A clearer start and better guidance - The welcome guide now opens the existing forms for adding games, players, and tournaments, and marks steps complete as you add data. - Clearer explanations when tournament players or a game's type cannot be changed. - Tied playoff qualifiers now show how many players to select. Playoffs can be created once the required number is selected. - Updated Help with scoring limits, roster rules, playoff ties, and backup guidance. More consistent results and statistics - Improved decimal precision, regional number handling, input validation, and protection against invalid or excessively large values. - More consistent tiebreakers, shared places, and pooled tournament points across result tables and standings. - Incomplete events no longer show final positions or tournament points prematurely. - Improved match-schedule completeness checks and shared league positions. Unresolved playoff qualification ties require an explicit choice rather than alphabetical selection. - Corrected statistics for players with the same name, and improved completed-event filtering, highscore updates, and completion-date preservation. - Better protection against changing a tournament's players after scoring or match scheduling has begun. Safer data and other improvements - Improved cleanup when deleting events and tournaments, including linked highscores, and repair of outdated references that could cause crashes. - Stronger backup validation and safer import, with rollback if an import fails, plus improved handling of older backups. - Clearer save, import, photo-loading, and image-export errors, with retry where appropriate. - Your chosen default scoring profile is preserved more reliably. - Improved photo cropping and zoom handling, consistent 300 x 300 JPEG output, and no unnecessary recompression of unchanged player photos. - Improved result-table sizing on iPhone and iPad, including support for larger text. - Additional stability and performance improvements throughout the app.
