Thank you so much for reaching out and sharing your feedback! Our app is designed to help you get to know your baby's movements by tracking how long it takes your baby to reach 10 movements. The app and program are based on research that supports this approach. We’d be happy to chat with you more about this if you’d like! You’re also welcome to visit our website or email us anytime at info@countthekicks.org. Thanks again for reaching out, and happy counting!

I love this app, but I think there’s some misinformation on it.
The one thing I want to say, is take things you see on ALL pregnancy apps with a grain of salt and talk to your doctor. I’ve seen a pop up recently telling women to not have any cold drinks to get the baby moving. However, a lot of doctors (mine included) actually recommend that as a first step before going to L&D. I wouldn’t want anyone to be dissuaded from something that might be helpful for them.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review and for using the app during your second pregnancy 🤍 We’re so glad kick counting has brought you peace of mind. We also appreciate you raising this point. Recommendations around stimulating babies' movement (such as cold drinks or sweets) can vary between providers. However, current evidence emphasizes that if a parent notices a significant change or decrease in their baby’s usual movement pattern, the most important step is to contact their healthcare provider or go to Labor & Delivery for evaluation, rather than relying on stimulation techniques alone. Our goal in the app is to center guidance around what research shows to be the safest and most reliable approach: knowing your baby’s normal movement patterns and seeking evaluation promptly if something feels different. You can read the research here: https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0217583#pone-0217583-t005 We always encourage users to follow their provider’s guidance while also advocating for themselves if they’re concerned. Thank you again for sharing your experience and helping us continue important conversations around fetal movement awareness. Happy Counting!
