Can’t count

I tried to get the app to count 11 toothpicks. It never counted correctly once. Not even laying the toothpicks out evenly in a row helped. Guesses varied between 12 and 15.

Perfect for my work

Completely off

I tried counting pills (softgels) on a white plate. The actual count was 106. The counts the app returned on four attempts were 64, 70, 70, and 78. On one attempt, it even counted the plate twice! I just don’t see how e. g. a pharmacist could rely on this app. Disaster.
An advice to the developer: to improve the app, have it draw a line around each detected object. This would allow for a quick visual accuracy check as any missed objects would be readily apparent.

Ingenious! Potentially very useful.

The idea of this app was a novelty to me, but I tried it out of curiosity and I’m impressed. It could certainly be useful for taking inventory and at home for collectors or anyone taking medications who needs to check pill supplies.

For example, I need to pack books for a move and the app instantly told me how many were in a bookcase and surprised me by also enumerating other objects on the shelves with correct identifications. (I plan to run more tests to check its accuracy.)

I appreciate that the app offers confidence ratings for each result and allows you to edit results if you catch a mistake.

I like that the app saves the photo it used for counting. I suggest that the app offer the option of including the photo in exported results for sharing.

It might also be useful if the app could optionally identify objects in each category it finds with color-coded outlines or overlays applied to the photo.

While I await the first update, I’ll be suggesting my friends try it. They all have lots of objects! 😆

unique

It does all that it said it can do and very fast. Get for a y and all large and small counting.

Simple failure

Tried it with 3 wrapped candied on a tablecloth. It counted 4. So then I tried white 18 pills on piece of brown paper. It counted 19. Failing twice in a row on simple tasks tells me this does not work.

A suggestion

I thought this might be handy for counting the total of some dominoes when playing Mexican Train.
We use both the ones with the pips and ones with numbers.
It would be great if we could snap a picture of our leftovers and count the total!
I took a picture of some dominoes and it told me how many dominoes there were, but it didn’t read the dominoes to say what they added to.
