What's New in Countey
1.4
October 21, 2026
With 1.4, Countey logs itself: pay with your iPhone or get a notification from your bank, and the expense is already logged in the right account, without opening the app. LOGS ITSELF • At the top of Settings, “Logs itself” walks you through Apple Pay, bank notifications and widgets, step by step, until everything is set. Each page has a gallery of examples, like the iPhone’s widget gallery, and Countey checks off each step by itself once it works. • Apple Pay connects in 4 taps with iOS 27: “Add with Shortcuts” brings the shortcut with the automation already inside. Just turn the automation on and add it. On earlier iOS versions, the step-by-step guide is still there. • Bank notifications log themselves (iOS 27): with a Shortcuts automation and your bank’s app, online purchases, transfers and direct debits get logged. Codes, promotions and balance alerts are ignored. Shortcuts asks for your bank’s app; if you have more, add them later in the automation. EVERY PAYMENT IN ITS PLACE • Each card goes to its own account, and Countey never asks: it recognizes the card from Apple Pay or the last 4 digits in the notification. Change a payment’s account once and it learns. Until then, it uses the account whose name matches, or else your main account. • One payment, one row: if the same payment comes in several ways (Apple Pay, the bank notification, a photo of the receipt…), it stays in a single row with an icon for each. When Countey isn’t sure, it asks “Is it the same payment?” • Whatever logs itself waits in “To review”: go through it one by one, or all at once with “Mark as fine”. FROM THE “LOGGED IN COUNTEY” NOTIFICATION • Touch and hold the notification, tap “Rename” and type the new name right there, without opening the app. You also get category buttons and “Undo”. • A one-off change applies to that payment only. Fix the same name the same way twice, and Countey remembers it next time. WIDGETS • Your savings ring, what’s left this month (and per day) and upcoming charges, on your Home Screen and Lock Screen. CLEARER NUMBERS • Leave an expense out of the totals, like a work expense your company pays back: it stays in the account balance but doesn’t count in totals, budgets or Plan. • Split an expense: only your share counts, and the rest goes to “Owed to me”. • Money back is subtracted: when a friend pays you back with a transfer, it’s linked to the expense, which then counts only what you really paid. The row shows what’s left, with the original amount struck through. • Spread a payment over months, like annual insurance: a part counts in each month. • Real currencies: a payment in another currency keeps its currency and converts to yours for totals, whether it comes from Apple Pay, a notification or a photo. Before, 12.50 in another currency was saved as 12.50 in yours. AND ALSO • New family plan: up to 6 people with Apple’s Family Sharing, each with their own data on their own iPhone. • Countey asks for your permission before using Google’s AI. Change it anytime in Settings › Privacy. • The AI reads faster and no longer gets stuck: if it doesn’t answer, Countey tries another way within seconds. • Redesigned Settings, with colored symbols, and “Log as you pay”, “Bank notifications” and “Widgets” each showing their status. • Money between your own accounts counts as a transfer, not as spending. If the bank notification doesn’t say which account it went to, “To review” asks you, and you can also turn a movement into a transfer when you edit it. • The Face ID or Touch ID lock now covers open sheets too. • Fixes for iPhones on iOS 18.
