About

CourtTap is an Apple Watch tennis scorekeeper with an iPhone match-history companion. Record points with a tap, then review the match and add details on your phone. No account is required, and no score or health data is uploaded to a developer server. Score on Apple Watch: - Advantage and Deciding Point scoring, including standard 6–6 tiebreaks. - Undo, score correction, and individual set scores in a compact interface. - End a non-tied set between games at its current score, such as 4:1, and start the next set. - Start a tiebreak to 7 or 10 when games are tied and points are 0:0. Win by two points. - Record unlimited sets. You decide when to end the match and whether to save or discard the score. - Optional HealthKit tennis workouts prioritize duration and heart rate on screen. Active energy is displayed when space permits; when hidden, it is still collected and saved to Health. - Workout metrics are display-only. Choose End Workout in Match Options (ellipsis) and confirm to save the workout and continue scoring. Review on iPhone: - Receive saved matches from your paired Watch, including set scores, tiebreak results, sets ended early, and unfinished sets. - Add singles or doubles, participant names, court information, and notes locally. No Contacts access is used, and annotations do not change Watch scores. - Choose to read Health data to view available workout duration, active energy, and average/maximum heart rate. - View estimated steps during the match recording interval, including rest time. This is not an exact count of tennis-only footwork. - Read installation help and the privacy policy offline in the app. Install the Watch app: 1. Download CourtTap from the App Store on iPhone. 2. With Watch app → General → Automatic App Install enabled, the system installs the compatible Watch app automatically. 3. Otherwise use Watch app → My Watch → Available Apps → CourtTap → Install. The system controls installation and delivery timing. Matches are stored locally. Keep scoring and reading previously received history while disconnected, then refresh after reconnecting. Watch is the score authority: deleting a match there removes the corresponding iPhone copy and notes after sync. Workouts already in Health are not deleted. Uninstalling an app removes its local data; recovery of history from an uninstalled Watch app is not guaranteed. Health access is optional and is not required for scoring. Health data may arrive later than scores; missing values are shown as unavailable, not zero. Match recording and workout duration can differ. After CourtTap successfully starts a workout, do not also record the same session in Apple’s Workout app, to avoid session conflicts or duplicate entries.

What's New in CourtTap

1.2.0

September 18, 2026

Adds an iPhone companion for Watch installation, match-history sync, individual set scores, and local singles/doubles, player, court, and note details. Optionally read on-device Health data for workout summaries and estimated steps during the match recording interval. Adds Match Options on Watch for set scores and correction. End a non-tied set between games, or start a tiebreak to 7 or 10 when games are tied, without ending the overall recording or workout. Fixes truncated workout duration on Watch. The display-only metric row prioritizes duration and heart rate, hiding active energy when space is limited while continuing to collect and save it. End Workout moves to Match Options (ellipsis); confirm to save the workout and continue scoring. The bottom End control still ends the overall recording.
