Contrarian Cuckoldry of Covertly
My rating is NOT due to the hackneyed YikYak comparison, it’s due to the fact that there’s some obvious organized voting going on on this app that favors a social justice narrative. I’ve had this app for almost a year and I noticed this in the first month, so I decided to post at least five posts per month. One would be apolitical, innocent stuff that shouldn’t offend anyone (but somehow does), second was a joke that was inoffensive, third was an offensive joke, fourth was an animal picture, and fifth was a social justice point. The only posts with a positive score are my social justice propaganda (my picture of A CAT got a -2 score as of writing this). While this may not be the work of the devs (I don’t think it is), this app is not fun for anyone unless they subscribe to a social justice narrative (assuming SJWs are capable of having fun). Honest Review
I love the style of the application such as the like and dislike buttons. However I do believe that you should improve your gps location and make it to where it will show the college on the map so that you may select it as your school. Also a profile picture would be nice. Another thing that would be great is choice in background meaning the colors. Last but not least a way to post pictures and share pictures.

Is the simplicity helpful or harmful?
I can’t help but compare this anonymous style app to a few others, like Whisper or Yik Yak, mainly because Whisper has a niché in that you make your posts over pictures that somewhat relate to your post, and in turn you can respond that way, and DM, and Yik Yak because it connects you to others doing similar things within a certain radius. Both apps had unique designs.
While Covertly is indeed simplified, I have to wonder if it is too simple. Not just in function but also in design. I’m still not keen on how karma points affect me, but it’s really not much different than Craigslist personals, and a lot of posts are about how it’s quiet and people want to leave the app. As a first-time user, these aren’t the types of things that encourage continuous usage in my eyes. While it isn’t terrible in design, it just doesn’t stand out in any way. Maybe if there were some factor aside from connecting to others, that could draw in more users, it would have a lasting impression on users.

Very cool app
I enjoy using this app because it lets me say things anonymously which helps a lot because I enjoy saying things without people ridiculing me so this lifts a weight off my shoulder plus I enjoy looking at what other people have to say 👍🏽👍🏽
App is working way faster than it used to be!
App is working way faster than it used to be, make sure that you post and refresh if you don’t see the comment right away, even though in my case everything was smooth. The app is awesome, gives you anonymity and open world to talk to based on your geolocation which is pretty accurate. I see a lot of potential and big success in the app.

Leaves a lot to be desired
For starters, there is not much activity on this app, aside from people trolling for sexual favors. The app could definitely benefit from having some moderators to weed out the spam posts.
Further, each user is fully anonymous - there is no profile of any sort, so there is no way to gauge who you are truly talking to. To me, it just seems like this would be every catfishers favorite app for that specific reason.
Something that could generate more interest would be to have topic posts. Maybe even have a daily subject to draw people in.
I did, however, like how simple the app is to use. It’s really a no-brainer. That’s about the only good thing at this moment. Hopefully, with some future updates it will be more interactive and enjoyable.

Pretty decent app
In the beginning the help menu was detailed and helpful. The app is very easy to use and has potential to grow. Biggest flaws I seen was there was a lot of sexual content conversation evolved, looking at some of the conversations there’s guys pretending to be girls and offering nudes. There wasn’t any nude pictures that I’ve came across. Cons of this app are a good way to communicate in a secretly way, looks to have several people using the app, and you can talk about anything. Overall I think it could use more improvements like having a selection tap to classic conversations, and the age on the app needs to be 18 or old.

Great Format. Needs more detail.
This is a great app for people to post their feelings, thoughts, and opinions. The format is simple and user friendly. It does need a little more detail. I would make the app look more appealing to the eye. I also think that the content should be monitored. The content looks like it could get a bit out of control. Other than that, the app is really nice. I personally would use it.

Covertly
Less bloated than other geolocation apps, don’t have to sign up for anything or juggle passwords, but can still directly message people. Only complaint would be the settings for max distance radius, would be useful if there were a bubble showing which cities are x miles away, or being able to input a city for when you’re away from campus.

The app is very well put together but doest have a good up to date refresh tab it still shows old posts also with the whole locate your area deal they should just use the zip codes and group them together by the radius of that instead of how they have it now.
Great App
I believe that this is a really good way for people to hear other’s opinions in the world around them and try to get answers to questions they don’t understand. I don’t like how the app look when it opens. It looks to bland needs more detail to where it’s attracting people of all ages and ethnicity. Where you can design your own personal screen.

Has Potential but needs some upgrades
Although the concept is great, Based on the comments from my location it seems like a “hook up” app. If that is the intent I would modify the app to show pics of people and segment conversations by category(ie hookups, friendships, Q&A) so that users can decide what chat they want to participate in. The app is user friendly, but can use some categorization tweaks to enhance the user experience.

Great app to speak our minds!!
The app layout is user-friendly and ease to understand features. The platform for free speech is quite unique and being anonymous makes it a great way to socialize with new people in the preferred radius. It would be nice if the app is compatible with iPad and supports content sharing for interactions from popular news feeds/ community feeds/ network feeds.

Fun and anonymous
This is a really great app. You don’t have to sign up for it, sometimes we don’t feel like signing up getting all these spam emails from signing up. I like this app because you just get right into it posting whatever you feel like posting. Great job everyone!
Great new app!
I love that this reminds me of Yik Yak so much because I did miss the openness of the app! It’s very easy to use and it’s very self explanatory. I like that anyone can post what they’re thinking or feeling anonymously whether it’s sad, funny, or just to vent. However, I do wish there was something to categorize them (i.e. love, funny, school, relationships) that way it’s easier to find what the users are looking. With everything considered, it’s a fun new app and I can’t wait to keep using it!

Quick and fun!
The app is easy to use right away, you can access everything quick and easily. The amount of info and posts you can see and scroll through is incredible!
Close but...we'll see
Consider this app YikYak part 2, Electric Boogaloo. It lags a bit when adding posts, and all the usual upvote/downvote/comment options are there but it very much feels like a rebranded YikYak to me.
A little clunky, sending direct messages took a little practice (swipe too hard and you'll get the comments section!) and most of the "instructions" at the beginning were fairly redundant. I'm sure it could be a lot of fun (in the right places, not suburbia where I'm at!) like YikYak was once they get the initial bugs worked out & maybe put a little more of their own twist on things (the only thing that set this apart from YikYak for me is it's blue instead of green)

User interface easy, but lots of flaws.
It is a very safe and anonymous chat tool. The way it sorted the messages and posts was very organized and it was simple. Sadly, that’s really all I can say that’s good. When you upload a message it takes a while for it to appear. The instructions at the beginning of installation were completely unnecessary. The layout is simple and lacks certain design that could make it stand out as a truly original application for mingling and getting to know people. The ads appear as a post and it is hard to tell the difference. You cannot figure out how to post. It seems the version I had was not complete or it was some kind of beta. Whatever the case it does have potential, but for right now, it has too many bugs that need to be fixed.

Simple, yet effective.
This is a very simple app. You can post, upvote, downvote, DM, comment, etc. Everything is organized either by newest posts in your area, or hottest post. The catch is that everyone post anonymously. This creates the perfect atmosphere for the most ridiculous, and fun posts.

Posts does not update upon loading page
I would give 5 star if the app would respond dynamically. I posted something and it took sometime to display in the home page and also after several minutes of posting, it was still showing like it was posted 3 mins ago. Also there are some icons that a user cannot figure out what that really means. Of course there are limited users at the moment that does not make the app a lively app.
