User reviews

Kind of helpful - mostly not

I don’t think this is the best way to improve my pronunciation. It’s more frustrating than anything. I’d recommend skipping this one. The feedback is not helpful. It’ll give you a clip of what it thinks you said to compare to the recording of your speech, and it’s often wildly inaccurate and not helpful.

Hi Nicknamesuckjustusemyname: Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. Your comments about the feedback feeling "not accurate or helpful enough" have been thoroughly discussed and reviewed by our team, and we take them very seriously. We understand how you feel. As a pronunciation-focused app, we use stricter standards to help learners master subtle sounds, with over 95% accuracy in quiet environments. However, our current “right or wrong” feedback may feel too brief and lack clear guidance, which can be frustrating. As our research and development work progresses, CPAIT will provide more intuitive guidance and more targeted pronunciation correction tools to help users improve their Chinese pronunciation more smoothly. In the meantime, please practice in a quiet place, finish speaking each sentence before stopping the recording. When have any doubts about a particular assessment use the "Disagree with the result?" link to send it to us—your samples are invaluable for improving our system. Wishing you progress in your studies, and we look forward to bringing you an improved experience soon. Best regards, CPAIT Team

It’s okay

The app is decent, but it’s missing a key feature—a daily review of what I’ve practiced. It would be really helpful to see a summary of my progress each day. Also, the pronunciation feedback isn’t always accurate. It keeps flagging sounds as incorrect when I’m saying them just fine. Needs improvement in that area.

Response from developer

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We highly value your suggestion for a daily review feature and will seriously consider it in our future product optimizations. While our Chinese pronunciation accuracy has reached over 95%, we are fully aware that there is still room for improvement. As an app focused on pronunciation correction, we have stricter standards compared to apps primarily focused on speech recognition. These high standards aim to help users master Chinese pronunciation more accurately, but it may cause some users to feel that content recognized on other platforms is flagged as inaccurate in our app. Thanks for your patience, more updates to come!

Voice Record Issue

I often encounter the voice record issue when I study or practice pinyin. The problem occurs when I click stop recording after speaking, and then the app is stuck in the process of the voice analysis without returning any feedback from AI. To temporarily fix it, I have to quit and reopen the app again. This issue happens on both my iPad and iPhone. I also encounter another voice record issue when I use the app on my iPad. The app can’t record or recognize my voice two or three times even though I speak loudly. Hopefully, these issues can be fixed soon so that I can experience the app smoothly. Thank you!

Best Chinese pronunciation app!

There's lots of Chinese Pronunciation apps out there. I've tried pretty much all of them. This one is by far the best one! It has a pretty generous free version, and I'm definitely getting the paid version as soon as I go through all of the HSK 1 vocabulary. I love that it lets you listen to each of your words separately to compare against a native speaker. Thanks for making this!

Response from developer

We are deeply grateful for your love and recognition of our app! Regarding the free HSK1 vocabulary practice, we have recently made adjustments in the new version, where only a partial sample is now available for new users to try. If you wish to continue practicing the full HSK1 vocabulary for free, we suggest you refrain from updating the app version for the time being. In the new version, we have added free content such as AI courses, hoping that these new features will bring you more joy and benefits in your learning journey. If you have any questions or need assistance, please feel free to contact us. We will continue to strive to provide you with an enhanced learning experience. Thank you once again for your support and understanding!

Convenient on practice Chinese speaking

Easy to practice with high-quality standard audio for reference. Let friends who speak Chinese well try this, they said the response is accurate. Will continue to use it to see whether it can help to improve my Chinese speaking or not.✊
