Marantz SR7011

Unfortunately, I am unable to connect through my WIFI either by selecting the Marantz SR7011 that it will find or by manually keying in its IP manually. I get an error “Please try again
There was a problem issuing the command, please try again.”

Works well

Fast and efficient. My Denon AVR has been clunky and inconsistent. This is the complete opposite. Thanks for building this!

App suddenly cannot find my Denon

After years of working flawlessly, Crank It stopped finding and connecting to my Denon. I have resorted to manually inputting the IP address to connect. Any suggestions other than unplugging receiver (didn’t work) would be appreciated. Love this app!

Best quick volume remote for Denon audio in 2024

Works great

Use it

Multizone?

App says it does multizone. Downloaded it. Doesn’t do multizone. Delete. 1 star.

Just works

Thank you dev (devs?). Denon needs to hire you

Doesn’t connect using iPads

Works using iPhone. On iPads, the app finds the Denon stereo but doesn’t connect on iOS 16.3.1 (iPad Pro). It used to work on iPad Air iOS 12.5.7, but not anymore. Doesn’t work inputting IP address either.

ISSUE RESOLVED: I needed to be on the same WiFi as the Denon Receiver for the iPads to connect to it.

Worked, but no zone control

Worked immediately and picked up my denon avr-s750, which the denon app could not!
But I was hoping for zone control so I could use it for controlling my outside speakers on zone 2.

Denon should hire this guy to make their app

Simple, and much more useful than the confusing, and unreliable Denon app. Once a receiver is setup, people want to change the source, and volume, quickly and reliably. This accomplishes that in a very intuitive and creative way. D&M should hire the developer to fix their failed remote control app. On top of that, I would have paid $5.00 for a good remote like this that works well, and the developer gives it away to the world, ad-free. Thank you sir!!!

Now, a nice feature to add would be to have the ability to make a widget or Siri command that you can one click turn on the receiver and change to a specific input (Sonos Port users anyone?). Maybe a premium feature offering someday, or in-app purchase?? A guy can only hope so. Either way, great work!

This app rocks

Thanks so much for putting this together. Since Denon hasn’t updated their remote app supporting older receivers like my AVR-X3000, I’ve lost network control of it. What’s worse, while that app allows you to manually specify an IP address, it doesn’t work across VLANs. Even before I put the receiver on a separate VLAN, their app worked rather poorly with constantly forgetting the receiver and not being able to find it again without uninstalling and reinstalling.

This app works perfectly. It scanned my network and of course didn’t find the receiver because it’s on my IoT VLAN, but quickly prompted for an IP address which I provided. Immediately was able to power on and control my X3000.

Fantastic! Why Denon can’t seem to figure out how to make a decent and supported app is beyond me.

Better app than manufacturer still some issues

Definitely a better control than what Denon provides for my older AVR. I do have an issue where the app will show the volume but is still in the connecting phase not letting me alter anything. I was also wondering if there was a way to set a custom limit as I am concerned it would still be too high.

Not working for me

If I Airplay music from my phone, as soon as This app launches, Airplay goes to pause. Had to delete it and just use the Denon app.

How simple, how great!

Amazing work on this app. 0 ads, 0 issues. Just amazing. Thank you.

Won’t connect to my Denon x3700

Was cautiously optimistic—the Denon app is abysmal and am eager to find an alternative. Crank it found my receiver on the network, but then just hangs indefinitely while “connecting.” Alas, back to the drawing board.

Master

This App work perfectly with my
Denon AVR-X1400H
Thnx Crank It

Great solution to Denon’s bad app

This app does almost everything you really need it to. The only 2 things that would be the icing on the cake is a zone selection function and an audio output configuration function (stereo, full Dolby etc).

It’s responsive, reliable, and easy on the eyes. Can’t recommend enough for people who want to be free of their AVR remote.

Wow

Wow u guys should ask Denon to buy you!!! Shame on u Denon for making 5-star receivers and 0 star app!

Great app, clean simple UI works perfectly

Exactly what I was looking for! Super clean simple app that works very well. I was disappointed at first that it stopped airplay, but I found the option to “disable audio” which after restarting the app completely solved that problem. Nicely done!

Nice simple remote.

Works very well and has a great layout. Awesome.

THANK YOU!!

You guys rock!! The native Denon app has always been awful and clunky. I already have my Denon dialed in with Audyssey and other tweaks for sound design so I’ve always been on the hunt for a simple intuitive interface remote for my basic needs... like volume control and input selection. I can’t thank you guys enough. Really excited for when you introduce Zone controls so that I can control my Zone 2 outdoor speakers and then I’ll never, ever have to use the native Denon app again. Big fan and I’m already telling other buddies who have Denon that a great app developer (you) has given us all a gift.
